5/14 Phoebe Squeak's ER visit & cute pix

Thanks for the vines for Phoebe Squeak's infection in her nail beds.
After 2 weeks on Clavamox & paw soaks (I was often more soaked than her paws were) we went for a recheck where they switched her antibiotic to Veraflox, added an anti-inflammatory -- Tranilast -- and a spray for her paws called Vetericyn.
After 3 days of these new meds she started vomiting non-stop and couldn't keep any food down.

I took her to the ER where after many tests, they decided it was a reaction to the new antibiotic. They gave her an injection of Cerenia & sent me home with Cerenia pills. They also gave her fluids. She has not vomited since we got home. We have stopped the antibiotic but continued the other 2 meds and tomorrow will be her first day without the Cerenia pill so we'll see how she does.
To cheer her up when we got back from the ER, I showed her that she's a May kitty in the FDMB calendar!

Oh, I love that she poses the same way in real life as she did for that calendar girl pic!

I sure am glad you got to the root of the vomiting...I know meds can certainly cause a lot of problems...I too have a lot of allergies to medications! I never know how anything is going to affect me until after I've taken it...and then have spent the entire day as sick as a dog! I usually call the doctor to let them know of my sudden new symptoms and they usually advise me to stop the meds right away - which after that day usually, I'm feeling just fine...the list has grown to 11 meds now...

She's still looking lovely though..I hope that paw thing gets resolved soon!

Poor little sweetie Phoebes, I hope you're improving. :bighug::bighug:

What a time to have an AB reaction. :( Sending her lots and lots of healing vines. :bighug:

The picture is so cute, she has the exact same expression as on the calendar!! :joyful:

You're such a good mama bean J.J., reminding her that she's the May calendar kitty must have made her feel so much better!! :bighug:

Thanks, Sue. I'm so sorry that you have been through so many bad reactions to medications. Very scary!
Today is Phoebe Squeak's first day without the Cerenia pill, so I'm really hoping she doesn't lose her lunch. My hubby pointed out that not only did she pose the same way as she did in her calendar pic, she's on the same windowsill! I hadn't noticed the same building behind her.
Hope you have a good (and medication-free) weekend.

We appreciate the vines! It's a bad time to have to go to the vet (or a human doctor) for sure.

I know! I think she's already working on her pose for next year's calendar!

Awww, thank you.

Toe healing vibes and NO more vomiting vibes being sent your way :bighug:! I’m SO sorry to hear this happened to her (and you!) and hope all of it goes more smoothly moving forward. She so beautiful and definitely knows how to strike a stunning pose :p!

That's very nice of you, Amy. We appreciate the vines! I think Mr. T strikes quite a pose too! Love his photo.
