Please help, my cat is a male(10yearsold) who is getting insulin treatments every morning/night. Recently he was sniffing all around him and acts like he cant see anything. We don't home test, and he eats 1/4 cup dry food every morning/nighttime. He also has asthma. Please help.

My kitty sniffed and even licked the ground during a borderline hypo event; she stopped after I fed her to bring blood glucose back up. Will your kitty eat for you now?

Oh! I just saw your reply about honey.

Stewart what is your cats name, we have to see what's going on right now,I agree with Panic can you go and buy a meter and test strips and 28 gauge lancets
You said he hasn't been to the vet in a month, very dangerous we can discuss this later , first we have to see what's going on

Where do you live

His name is Stewie, Stewart is not my name, I will try to go get a meter and test strips and gauge lancets.

Yes, follow the instructions to just set the time etc and after that turn it off and back on (pressing the center button) and insert a strip, the side with the most black goes inside. You'll take a lancet and poke the rim of the ear to form a blood drop which may take a few tries, then hold the end of the strip in the meter to the blood, it will read the number to you.

SO, just to get this straight, we should get Relion 26 Gauge Lancets, and Fancy Feast Gravy Lovers? Does it matter if the Relion gauge lancets are thin lancets*?

They don't have to be Relion brand-- you can use whatever brand you like. To start, you want a larger size, which is a smaller gauge-- 26 or 28 would be best. The thin ones make tiny holes, so it's harder to get blood when you are starting out.
