Hi everyone!
I hope everyone is staying healthy and safe!
It's a cold/windy day here although yesterday we had summer weather...DH and I went on a short road trip to an "environmentally significant area" called Corners Corner....in the mustang with the top down! Today....back to winter coats and heat in the cars.

The Orioles, Barn Swallows, Warblers, House Wrens, Thrushes and Catbirds are finally being seen just these last two days. Cold north winds are expected the next couple of nights so likely nothing more will fly in.

Lots of photos to share with you this week including a Pied-Billed Grebe, a Hermit Thrush, a Canada Goose (having chased another goose away returns to its family), Two male Wild Turkeys, a Spotted Sandpiper, Two Goslings, a Brown Thrasher, a Yellow Warbler, a Red-Bellied Woodpecker (where you can actually see his red belly) and the last one (just shot this morning) a Mama Goose with babies!

Thank you again for looking at my photos!

Thank you Judy, they are absolutely gorgeous pictures and they all seem to just pose for you, even that incoming one, what a shot!! :joyful:

Glad you got to zoom around in the "Stang" with the roof down!! :p It was glorious weather on the weekend but we're back to winter this week! :banghead:

That mom with babies is calendar worthy! OMG! That's just breath taking! All of your pics are absolutely gorgeous! I can see why you're a pro!

Sorry to hear the weather has pooped out already...sheesh...winter needs to let go already!

So hard to say which one I like the most! Judy, these photos are wonderful. I think it has to be the Mama Canada Goose with her babies. I am always impressed with what good parents Canada Geese are. They really look after their flock.

Cold weather here again, too. Have a great week. Maybe it will warm up (maybe!)

Awesome photos as usual Judy. They make me want to get out and on the water soon. I'm sure the baby ducks and geese are out in our part of the world too. Those pics of the babies make me melt.

Our weather is mixed up. Hail yesterday for a bit, got up to 17 C mid day, now cool and raining again. The bright side is over 20 end of week. :)

Thanks Wendy!
PS we're expecting snow on the weekend.:mad::mad::mad::mad: And it appears the migrating birds may be flying around the great lakes instead of across them because, instead of warm south winds, we've been getting cold north winds.....so they may miss my area :arghh::arghh::arghh::arghh:

Thanks Ella!
I have a story about a Canada Goose pair.....we were at the river in Stratford a couple of years ago and there was a baby duckling in the middle....the rest of the Duck family was on the edge. Two Canada Geese swam over to it and guided it back to the family! It was amazing to watch!

Thank you Sonia!
Yes I've certainly had enough of winter, now there is snow predicted for the weekend!

Thanks Ella!

Hi again, Judy,
That's a great story.
Your picture of the mother goose holding her babies under her wings reminded me of a mother Mallard duck who was a summer resident in the small lake where we had a camp many years ago. Every day in the early afternoon she would sit on a floating log next to the shore and gather her chicks (as many as 10 chicks some years) under her wings. She would spend about an hour, just resting in the sun while the chicks slept.

We paddled yesterday on a small pond to see if the loon pair that we sponsor (for the Adirondack Loon Conservation) had returned this year. YES! They were there. So happy to see them.

And the award for worst guess goes to... The Weather Channel
Jeepers, even a broken clock is right twice a day. I just cut the front lawn before we get an anonymous letter from the neighborhood so I have only myself to blame for getting frostbite doing summer chores. This is what I think of your computer modeling  :blackeye: :(
