5/3 Zhoom Boy - New dose no progress

Can anyone take a look at Zhoom's SS and see if you can see something that I am not, I can't seem to get him to stay in the greens and we are looking at another dose increase soon - up to 3 U - which is the most he will ever have been on. I feel like at some point we had gained some great momentum and now I just have to keep increasing his dose.

Out of curiosity, what are the chinese herbals being used to treat? My vet also does Chinese meds, so I have seen them before, just not in my diabetic, so I don't know how they impact blood sugar.

Looks like Zhoom Boy could use an increase. Don't get married to a dose, a cat needs what they need. If it's not giving him numbers you want, he needs more juice.

Looks like Zhoom Boy could use an increase. Don't get married to a dose, a cat needs what they need. If it's not giving him numbers you want, he needs more juice.

The herbals are for diabetes and respiratory symptoms. Zhoom does seem to get seasonal allergies, which have just started up recently. Perhaps that is what is effecting his blood sugar. These new herbs are for both diabetes and the respiratory symptoms (wheezy lungs, congested nose).

I tell myself not to worry about the dose. But I do. Yes, he does seem to need more insulin. I just wanted someone else to look at it, in case I was missing something. I know sometimes too much insulin can look like too little insulin. Although I do not think this is the case for Zhoom, I wanted someone else's opinion. Thank you.

Argh, it's seems I have to shoot that old chestnut down every day. The only times I've seen this happen if is a kitty was started on way too high a dose, or the person was increasing by too fast, too much and not testing. None of that applies to you and Zhoom Boy. Therefore, he just needs more insulin. A cat's insulin needs can change over time. I've seen a number where there are seasonal differences, perhaps due to allergies.

Yes, Zhoom started having diabetes symptoms at the end of May last year - it may just be a difficult time of year for him.
