Brady Continuing His End of Cycle Low Numbers

Not panicking. The only dry food he gets at all is the Clean Protein chicken and some Temptations. The Temps aren't really working all that well so we have cut back on them. We are aware that dry food takes longer to digest. Our instincts are for safe numbers and to get some sleep.

Cat Safe 50 or Pet Safe 5 are recommended here, the Pet Safe one more often.

Pat, (Patrick) might want to consider an automatic food feeder too. It might help Pat to feel safer, that Brady would have some food at night, and Pat's fear of hypos might diminish.

There is also the "frozen hockey puck" trick, where you freeze food in an ice cube tray, or on a cookie sheet and then put them in a zipper top bag after they are frozen solid, for later feeding. Take the can of cat food, open, plop it on the cookie sheet (or in a muffin tin) and cut into chunks. You may need to take the 'hockey pucks" out earlier in the day, to let them start to defrost a bit, before leaving them out overnight. Or leave them out during the day, when you need to be away from home.

Are these dry food feeders?
 
They can be used for wet or dry food. There are little ice packs in some of them, that you put underneath the food to keep it fresh. Best thing you can do, is to add some water to the wet food, to help keep it from drying out. Doesn't have to be much, a teaspoon or so per 1/4 can of Fancy Feast (3 oz can) is usually plenty.

Auto feeders sometimes can be found for sale on a place like eBay or Craigslist or facebook marketplace.
 
Cheese is fine. Anything pure protein is fine for a diabetic cat and can be very useful as a treat for testing or when giving the shot of insulin.

Many people even sprinkle a bit of grated Parmesan cheese on their cat's food, to get them to eat more.
