Alice had a small, hard looking bowel movement over the night.

I know there’s the possibility of a fur shot yesterday AM, but she’s running so high in general I feel really desperate like holding this dose is not doing her any favors right now.

I know her SS looks like a wreck but I would love a little dosing feedback if anyone has the opportunity to glance. :)

Also I don’t know how this Renal K+ potassium gel supplement affects her. It has “maple flavor” in its ingredients, a bunch of micronutrients like folic acid and niacinamide, and sucralose.

This morning I had to test and feed her at PM +11 because she was so irritable and insistent (read: painful). I won’t get a shot in when she is that angry if I make her wait for food. She’s running really high anyway. So her AMPS is food influenced. I may have had to feed her again before I could test her but I was so groggy and irritable I forget now.

Sorry if I am all over the place (probably pretty standard for me though). It’s been a lot lately!
 
You caught a nice 68 there the other night...try to focus on the mid-cycle numbers and not so much on the preshots. They're always the worst ones of the day.

You've been through a lot lately...try to get your rhythm back...I hope the poo thing settles down soon too.

That low was I think due to inappetence though.

Today she is high again at +5. I haven’t fed her in awhile so no food influence and she just isn’t going down. She started below 500. I swear I didn’t miss this shot. She is irritable and has been frequently over 300 so much this year that I am cringing at the damage I know is being caused. How long can she wait for progress if this isn’t making progress? :\
 
Like Sue said, try to focus on the low points, not the high. As long as she is seeing some lower numbers, it's better than being high all the time in terms of being hard on her body. The effects of a fur shot can also impact later cycles, you could be seeing some of that today too.

Alice was seeing black numbers before starting the potassium. It might still be worth a conversation with the vet about the gel. When Neko needed potassium, her internist vet gave me potassium gluconate powder. He lead with the gel, but when I reminded him it was for a diabetic, he went with the powder. I don't know if it's the same gel you are giving, but there are alternatives.
 
Still HI +9.5.... she’s hungry and irritable constantly right now. :( she had an infection when she got bloodwork in March, treated that, then a half-decent couple weeks then all of this.its just been a LOT of highs and I’m slowly working on going back and filling in the gaps on the SS. But it’s almost all really high. I know it’s the low numbers that matter but usually she starts to show a trend when she is at a dose that is working.

As far as the potassium goes, my vet office is very small so in terms of what they are able to store for supplies... the vet when I spoke to her about bringing Alice in on Monday didn’t even sound 100% certain what they had in stock for her to give me. I didn’t talk to her directly after she saw Alice, just spoke to the vet tech in the parking lot and I was so scattered... but she doesn’t need it frequently from here on out. Pumpkin has potassium so shouldn’t that be helping a bit too?


She did have a nice solid poop around 2:30p today. Besides the small one last night while I slept. I’m relieved to see her bowels are continuing to work and getting back to normal, but also I see that the poop is very... solid and kind of dry or dense-looking if that makes sense. I think it may be hard for her to evacuate. I was watching her push on this one.

Sorry I’m scattered and worn out today too. I feel frustrated. She shouldn’t be this high and I don’t understand what is making things worse. I don’t know that I had a fur shot yesterday, I just thought I did because her BG looked just like today basically.... going up instead of down. :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: <——- it would be a lot more succinct if I just used those emoticons and left it at that. :confused:

I know it takes patience. I am trying! I just feel like I should be doing more.
