Wow, I guess I'm going to have to be a night owl. After her 410 test last night before bed (whew! I was tired out from cleaning out my mini rose bed) she dropped to 78 by test time this morning. She must nadir at around +8-10. Makes me wonder how low she goes beforehand. Must get +7-9s pm. Maybe if I get a good caffeine buzz, a good book, and a nap. (this would be 1-3 am for me) Not sure if DH would appreciate an alarm.

Her last couple of days have been roller coaster, to say the least. Poor baby, I cannot even imagine how she must feel with these fluctuating #s.

:coffee::coffee: Hope everyone has a good day and all sugar kitties stay in the safe zone.

You could try feeding at those late hours to see if that will help hold her numbers up a bit...maybe add a dab of medium carb to the LC and see if this will help. I know those bounces are hard to take..Luci used to the the Queen of the trampoline...one reason why I switched her to Levemir. That seemed to help and I leave a snack for her in the auto-feeder that dispenses around 8+ to keep her numbers from falling too low.

Hope this helps :)

Thanks.....I have been contemplating the auto feeder for some time now. Not sure if I would need 2 (one for grandkitty) or if he would ignore it during those early morning hours. Might be a good investment either way and worth a try. :)

Auto feeders are great. Ollie doesn't seem to get up for hers anymore though. So PJ usually gets the +9 snack. If I happen to be up I bring Ollie the snack on her chair and she will eat it. But to lazy to get up on her own I guess.

So, my little Novie has been in the pinks (except for amps) all day...does this mean the bounce is breaking ?????

also I saw this in the shoot low sticky:
On the other hand, if your cat has a bounce clearing and is still careening downhill at shot time (usually characterized by numbers that drop for the whole cycle, without a clear nadir), then you will want to take that into consideration as you make a decision about shooting. Know thy cat.

Knowing whether your cat is one that dips at the end of the cycle can also help you with dose increases. If your nadirs are not that great and you are considering an increase, but then he dips again at the end of the cycle, you might be tempted to delay the increase. If you know that this is a usual pattern for your cat, you will know that you can ignore that dip and go ahead with the increase.

I can't tell if she's dipping or clearing the bounce at this point. Nadirs are.....where....all over the place.

Do I increase tomorrow (Day 9) or hold?? I'm struggling here....

I'd be tempted to give her one more day (to clear the bounce), then try an increase, but only if you can monitor closely. Her nadirs don't leave much room for the increase, but it would nice to lower the rest of the numbers. There is the risk she'll go low, so you will have to watch her.

Thanks for the reply. Ok. I will hold one more day, or? I'm kind of at a loss right now, but will get better in time, I'm sure. Her +8.5pm was 276. Hopefully this means the bounce is breaking. I work at home these days, and my hours are flexible thank goodness. I can monitor as much as needed. I have been trying not to poke too often, as Nova is getting a bit on the grouchy side.
