Okay he has not been this low for PMPS YET.

6.7 pmps

Im supposed to give insulin well now... I have not fed him in about 3 hours.

Nervous to give full dose. recent data has shown its most likely OK but I dont know this is low #!!

Advice please !!

@Jerica kidd what have you decided to do? Ramone probably dropped lower (6.2) because he was hungry. You have shot 130 before which is not much more than 124. Options are shoot full dose, shoot a reduced dose or skip.

FYI, you shot slightly reduced dose at 7.2 not that long ago. 6.9 isn't that far below that. Remember, as you gather data, you can gradually lower the number you shoot.

Sorry no one here sooner.
Your other option if you were able to test during the cycle would be to give a smaller dose

That’s okay! Just thank you for replying and getting to me!!

So it’s been just over an hour past his shot time. Should I test and see and maybe give him some insulin?
That’s another thing I struggle with what do I reduce to if I am reducing ...

Or just leave as is and start up again tomorrow and he’ll most likely be higher than usual ?

Sorry my phone isn't receiving emails this quickly.

so you're right he was at 7.2 and I gave reduced dose.

I guess I just chicken out if I'm alone..
No confidence ..

So far i've skipped,.. its been over an hour. I could give reduced dose.. I just don't know what to reduce too.. thats another thing I struggle with too...

Sorry everyone I appreciate you all so much for replying to me, I've got this up on my laptop now. and should be much quicker.

While you are testing.... If you shoot now, you'll have to shoot his AM shot at the same time tomorrow. After that you can move back on schedule by 15 minutes a shot, or 1/2 hour once a day.

Now the question is, can you monitor tonight, do you have plenty of strips and HC if needed?

OK, so up to you if you want to shoot full dose or a bit less. I will be up and keeping an eye on you for at least 3 hours. Bron may be available later.

maybe 6.5 or 7 ?
and just continue to check each hour and post and see how things are looking...

THANK YOU:bighug:

I gave him 6.5... i will check him every hour and post.

you guys rock. can't thank you enough.
I just need to not be alone until I get super comfortable with this!

and i'll make sure his shot is 12 hours from this time for tomorrow and I"ll slowly walk it back to our normal time

You could stretch it to 90 minutes if you wanted. She's not dropping fast.

So now based on this last week or so ... what would be my lowest shoot # now to shoot full dose, providing I would be able to monitor and have all the supplies.

5.0 / 90 ? If I am to follow SLGS protocols correct?

I feel like I'll post everyday at this rate and I know everyone has lives so I can't expect someone to always be around to guide me.

And if I do a reduced shot - Is there a general guideline or percentage of how much you should reduce based on the preshot #?

The lowest "no shoot" number, which we actually prefer to think of as the "stop and ask for help" number, that you want to use has to be in your comfort zone and above 90. And next time you get a number close to what you've shot before, try shooting the full dose, as long as you are around to monitor. Due to the nature of the depot, the larger dose is going to control a large part of what happens in that cycle, unless you reduce a lot, like a half. Taking 0.5 or 1.0 unit off like you have won't do much for that particular cycle.

You've now shot on a 124, you should be OK for 10-15 points below that, if that's what you see next. And remember, you can always stall a bit and see if the number comes up closer to your comfort zone. But of course, you'll have to work your schedule back again.

Okay thank you so much. great info. I feel like I got a much better understanding of it all as well some decent data too now.

My vet is great and given me her number to txt her whenever I need, but she'd really engraved in my mind do not shoot lower than 200(11.1) because he could go too low..

So this has been a learning curve but a very positive one! His #'s are proving it!! I never thought we'd get to this point and honestly I wouldn't have if I wouldn't have this site to reach out too.

Thank you again for helping me and Ramone!
