Bye bye March! Hello to the strangest April ever! As we all look forward to another month of this staying at home...let's hope the time passes quickly and no one here catches that awful virus.

Yesterday was another wild and crazy day of work...today promises to be the same. My boss, the neurosurgeon had 4 brief cases in the OR yesterday which took nearly 12 hours to complete since every patient that is intubated requires 30 minutes post-extubation time for the air to freshen. The OR's are negative pressure and it takes that long for all the potential viruses to be removed from the air - if there are any - so after you add 30 minutes prior and 30 minutes post (the air clearing time) cases were spaced nearly two hours apart...so that gives him a lot of time to sit with me. Oh fun...

No cases or patients today...so it should be fun. We started yesterday just after 5 a.m. (since he was headed in to surgery)...and we worked until just after 5 last night...what a day! The fun will start again soon...

I hope you all are well and that your kitties are surfing nicely. Luci is flirting with better numbers - nice low start...and if we don't keep a close eye on her, she'll be chasing those sharks! She just can't leave them alone and at this dose, she's getting that push...but doesn't know how to behave...

Have a great day everyon!

Hope Luci stays well away from those sharkies...surf safely little one and Sue- I hope your day goes as smoothly as possible with the work load that is upon you:bighug:

Luci, what is your role that you can do from home, and another state if your boss is in the OR all day?

Luci's role is to entertain with her running antics...and have me clean her litter box frequently...steady stream of food and to leave her alone when she's sleeping - which is most of the day. Currently sleeping on the lanai...I wish I could have a nap too...

Signed, Sue :joyful::D Luci's bean :p

Geez, wasn't awake yet. I meant you Sue, what is it that you do if boss is in another state and in surgery?

I figured...just thought it was funny and I thought you'd like to know what Luci does all day... :)

I work as an applications programmer to support a custom application for Neurosurgery at Michigan Medicine...and I'm in Florida for 6-7 months out of the year....I started working remotely 11 years ago...before my DH retired and it just seemed easy enough to work from Florida since it didn't really matter where I was...as long as I have my laptop, wi-fi and an I-Pad/I-Phone for FaceTime it's easy to work with anyone, anywhere. At this time it just so happens to be with my boss - he loves to get into the application and figure out what's going on there...he's very smart and loves to learn. I plan to have him take my place when I retire...because by then he'll be retiring from doing surgery..this will be great for him...and will keep him busy :)

Hi Sue! I’m glad others asked what you did because I was trying to figure out if you work remotely how your boss was hanging out with you while the OR gets “freshened up”.

Aren’t you glad you aren’t at the hospital now??

Luci is loving this dose and she almost earned a reduction with that 43. It’s a matter of time...
