KNOW ABOUT CABERGOLINE?

I'd like to confirm that Maxi's medicine, which we just received and have never tried before, is exactly the right formulation.

The label says:
30MCG/ML SUS
Give 1 ML daily by mouth

Per the research and your knowledge/experience, is this right for Maxi's Acromegaly?

Can you advise on the best method of introducing Cabergoline into his treatment?
Of course it's necessary to consider his history and current situation.
We don't want to have too many moving parts so we can make clear judgments on what works.

Maxi's on his 3rd cycle of 5.5 units of Lantus and his 8th cycle of R. He started at 0.25 of R and the dose has increased until last night he had 1 unit of R. This morning he hasn't had R on the advice to see what the Lantus alone does.

Any and all input appreciated.

It would be great to get guidance from someone who is well versed with cabergoline.

In a previous post here, we discussed quantity of cabergoline and said 30mcg/day is the low end of dosing (5mcg per kg) and could go up to 60mcg/day or 10 mcg per kg. You are starting on 30 mcg, which is the amount in 1 ml. Try it for a while and you could increase if needed.

That was a nice long stretch of yellow last night! You may be seeing some bounce now. That's OK, Maxi will get used to better numbers.

Working on the R response for tonight.
 
I called the pharmacy, and this is what they told me:

contents of the bottle:

2 mg of cabergoline from four .5 mg tablets
66 mls of chicken fixed olive oil flavor

I "chatted with Sandy" - 1u of R if over 300 at PMPS. Let's see if we can replicate last night's drop which was about where we want.

Still thinking about cabergoline start time, hold off for now.

Hmm, not so effective a dose during the bounce. But maybe it helped the bounce numbers from getting worse. Same R plan tomorrow morning.
