Hi, can you stall, don’t feed and test again in 20 minutes?
Are you going to be able to test during the whole cycle if you shoot? do you have plenty of test strips and high carb food and honey or karo?

I tried stalling, both cats were going nuts for feeding as they’re both getting used to new feed schedule and were yelling at me a half hour already for food. I fed, and gave him .5U. So far he seems ok. Will test in one hr. Luckily he’s just started out so he doesn’t have the lantus built up quite yet. I really hope I didn’t screw up but didn’t wanna give him the full unit. I do have honey and syrup if needed

Are you able to test during the whole of this cycle?
I would get a +1 and a +2 to start with and then further tests as needed.

Next time you get a lower Preshot, stall, don’t feed and test again 20 minutes later to see if the BG is rising.

When you test like you did last night at +3 and you get a lower BG then the Preshot, always test again to check that the BG is not dropping further. It dropped further last night... we don’t know how much... because the AMPS was lower today.

Can you get your signature set up please? It only takes 5 minutes, then you can put your SS at the bottom of the signature. It gives us vital information. Go to the top right of this page and click on your user name. Choose signature then tell us your and your kitty’s name, date of Dx, type of insulin and meter, type of food fed, any illnesses or medications. Then save. Thanks.

Ok got signature set up. Will test at +1 and +2

Thanks, that’s great!
I see you are feeding a dry food during the cycle. That will limit you to following the Start Low Go Slow method. Read about i
t here.

It is good to feed a low carb canned food during the first half of the cycle as well.
You mean give hin canned food where I am giving him dry after the am shot? He doesn’t really even eat the kibble much anymore. I end up putting at least half back when I pick food up 2 hrs before shot time

343 at +1 I messed up didn’t I?

kd9, don't look at it as messed up at all....Im very new to this as well, they will help you get on the right track, don't look at it as messed up, looking at it as a learning in progress. I have had numerous questions about this disease and have had great answers. So you didn't give shot today or you gave .5?

I gave .5 bc I want the lantus to keep building in his body but I didn’t want him to go hypo
