69, yikes. The lowest I have ever shot is 89 and I got the BOS award for that because I was so scared.....this, I don't know what to do. Any advice?

Re-test in 30mins [edit: from the last test] (no food), see where he is.

Do you have lots of supplies (strips, HC food, etc)? How late can you stay up to monitor tonight if you had to?

I have not fed him yet, I am going to test in 5 minutes. I have plenty of supplies and I always make myself stay up if I need to or I set my alarm to get up and check on him every half hour or hour if I need to.

Just checked him. He is still at 69

OK, it's technically shootable, but it is up to you. I will not be up much longer, and (for obvious reasons) the boards are even spottier than normal these days, so you may be on your own tonight if you shoot. How do you feel about that?

I will check again in half an hour. I might need to give a reduced dose tonight though if he doesn't go up. I am a pinch under the weather and need to consider myself in this equation given all that is going on in the world. My boss is waiting on a coronavirus test result, so I need to be careful with my health as I may have been exposed. That said, if I decide to give a reduced dose should I go with a 1.75 U or 1.5 U do you think?

Well, with reduced doses you still have the depot to consider, so it probably won't give you much of a break to shoot 1.75U-- you'll have just about the same cycle as you would have with the full 2.0U, but now you'll have to start the cycle count over.

And of course, even if you reduce or skip, you'll want to get at least one test in tonight because of the depot, just to make sure he isn't getting up to any trouble!

I might not wait the full half hour again. If you stall too long, they continue to drop without food on board. Maybe 15-20 mins. He is coming down from a bounce, so tonight might be active. If you want to shoot a reduced dose, the first half of the cycle might play out like you shot the full dose. So shoot about half dose to have any impact. The sign that he is flat and not still dropping is good.

Take care of you first. :bighug:

What do you mean by start the cycle count over?

Yes, I do have to consider myself. I will test again in just a minute. You are saying that shooting half the dose (1 U) might keep him from rocketing to the moon. I was considering giving him 1.5 but I am just guessing at this!

On TR, we wait 6-10 cycles to let a dose "settle" before trying an increase. Zhoom Boy has been on 2U for a while and seeing some greens, so he's probably good where he is, but if you were contemplating an increase, the skip would delay it, you'd have to start the count over.

OK, if it were me, and I were feeling under the weather tonight? I'd probably skip, get one more test for him and good night's sleep for me.

If you do decide to do a reduced dose, I agree with Wendy that going down to 1.0U makes sense.

Half dose might keep him from plummeting, and make not rocket too much - though he could bounce too. Just taking a 0.25 unit off might have the cycle look the same as if you shot a full dose.

The skip does not affect the cycle count. He's already been on this dose longer than the 10 cycles recommended by TR.

Ok, I think I will give 1 U tonight. I can get a +1 and +2 for sure. Going forward tomorrow do I then keep him on the 2 U? He seems to be doing well on it.
