Hi-
I've gotten differing responses to this question from informed people, so I'd like to hear from all of you informed people.
I'm a bit confused about proper dosing of Maxi's binder (which he takes because of his kidney disease). The dose on the prescription from the vet and also on the Epakitin (binder) says 1 scoop mixed with food twice a day. Is it important to give him binder every time I give him food? Or is it ok to give it only twice a day? Sometimes/Often he gets food more than twice a day. So for example if I feed him 3 times a day, should I divide the quantity contained in 2 scoops into 3 and mix it into his 3 meals? Or divide it into 4 if he gets 4 meals? Or is it important to get the oomph of a full scoop of the medicine twice a day? I know the binder is supposed to counteract something bad that the phosphorus in food does to him, and that's why I'm wondering if he needs to get some binder every time he gets food.
Thank you
