Zeke's first blue since we started Tresiba! Now I wish I hadn't waited so long to go for 2x day dosing. I will be testing him a little more frequently to make sure he isn't trying to dive to too low of numbers.

Looking like that even though kitties can hold the numbers steady with once a day dosing, it is better to just stick with the twice a day dosing.

IKR! I will test a little more today since he did a big drop into the blues from those yucky pinks. :) Maybe we can get off the kitty stew soon also! Tired of scooping kitty mud from these 3 guys lol.

Umm, glad I tested him a litter earlier then I was planning! Gave him extra treats for some extra carbs and testing again at +3. He needs to stop this dropping. :nailbiting:
 
Wow! :nailbiting: Zeke is on mission this morning! Hopefully he'll do a little climbing now until around +9. Depending on how you feel about it, you could keep with the 1.25u dose, or cut back to 1u just to see where the depot ends up stabilizing at. It's always a nail-biter when you see this vigorous a response. I'll keep an eye out for your posts :)

Still dropping a little. Gave him a nice chunk of treats this time for the extra carbs cause I might not make it back to the house in time to do +5, hopefully +5.5 at the latest.

Already dropped the dose down on the caliper to 1u lol. After this down slide, want to slow his little booty down! :smuggrin:
 
My goodness! I have my fingers crossed that Zeke safely surfs to PMPS. What is the lowest PS you've shot? I'm just wondering if Zeke will be breaking any of his record this evening lol.

It has been awhile, but his lowest we shot was in the 40's I believe. Because of him bouncing, we knew he would be immediately bouncing so it was safe to shoot that low. If I have to stay up tonight I will though because I am a firm believer in "shoot low to stay low". Anytime we ever skipped or did a chicken shot because of a low number, it would result in Zeke staying high for a bit. Of course we are on a whole new learning experience with Tresiba, so unless he is showing that he is holding steady, I don't think I would want to shoot full dose below 80. Just gotta see how he goes. I still have some running to do, but my daughter will be here now to test so we can keep a close eye on him. We also got plenty of test strips (like 400 atm lol), so no worries on having enough supplies. :) After having our day where we had to test 30+ times and local walmart being completely out of our strips, I won't go below 200 strips now.
 
So what did you have to do to get him to go back up from that 50 BG?
Food? Simple Sugars?

Notes on the SS in the remarks column may help you to remember for next time.

p.s. the +5 column has 58 for both the +5 and the +5.5 BG test results.

We started with just giving extra treats but once he hit the 50's, we started with the HC food, fancy feast grilled chicken and cheddar usually does the trick.

We have done this enough times to remember, but thanks for the suggestion. With lev we didn't steer until he hit 40's, but since new to Tresiba and with the quickness of his drop, we started a little sooner.

I'm so sorry I missed this, I was in the car headed home :( It was rare that I actually needed to steer Sam, but when I did it was with Karo since he actually loves the stuff, and he will not touch MC or HC canned food, no matter how I try to entice him. It wouldn't take much Karo; .2 or .3 cc, but sometimes I needed to give it to him several hours in a row. And rarely there would be a secondary dip I needed to keep watch for. I see you're planning a +7, and if Zeke's still good then, you might also want to catch a +10 just in case.

I admit, I absolutely wasn't expecting this from Zeke today :eek:

I'll do my best to be available at your PMPS. Hoping Zeke will give you a shootable number, because I'm afraid a skipped shot after today will lead directly to the bounce castle :nailbiting:

Luckily Zeke will eat HC. I did restock it though with the way he did earlier. Hopefully he doesn’t make a huge bounce though. He is definitely rising fast.
 
It would be nice if this rise levels out. If there was a deeper depot I'd be a bit more confident that Zeke wouldn't bounce... He really threw a curve ball today!

Yep, Zeke is good at that. We will do a +9 and see where he is sitting at but at this point looking like we will do a full shot. Still sticking with the 1u though since he went flying down since last night. Zeke is a prime example of ecid lol

Yeah, seen what his + 6 was for his pmps and then what his amps was so wasn't about to just let him go til the +6. :rolleyes: Thankfully looks like the little turd is leveling back out so now waiting to see what his pmps will be this evening.
