? 2/27/20 Zeke's OTJ trial beginning ?

He seems to have bounced yesterday afternoon, we were almost to a full week of greens, (shy of a day), anyway, so after he had a 70 PMPS last evening, NS! Like I have said, the days I work I could test only until I left for work at 8p, so I apologize for the lack of data. When I am off, I get a test at night. I am off for a couple of days now.
During a trial do I test the same times or just amps and pmps. We are all very pleased, and cautiously optimistic around here, fingers crossed!! Also, will his numbers continue to decrease a little or will they generally stay about where they are today without insulin? Just curious. thanks!

Hi. You could try 0.1u instead of 0.25u. I know it sounds impossible, but it's doable! It looks like Zeke needs just a tiny bit of insulin to keep him in the greens!

I agree with Mandy. Zeke is close, but not quite ready for an OTJ trial. Those mid blues yesterday are indicative he needs a bit more healing time with insulin support. The 0.1 unit dose will help with that. Here is a post on earning reductions and starting OTJ trials. Don't forget your night time cycle tests.

Good luck on the reduced dose...he does appear to need just a little help to stay in the greens! I hope you can start an OTJ trail soon...but he really needs to be steady in the greens before beginning...

It is good to give him all the support you can before taking him off insulin. Those mid cycle blues are an indicator that he’s not ready. And personally , I would not drop the dose down yet. I’d hold the 0.25 dose especially since you did not shoot the last night and with those blues. I’d give it 7 days of all greens on the 0.25 dose and then reduce to 0.1 for another 7 days of All greens before I would start a OTJ trial .

Just wondering, why did you not shoot last night? With TR , anything over 50 is shootable.

Just because I thought we had a week of greens except for 1 blue, also I thought he had bounced telling me he’d had enough . We’re both tired. May 23rd was our 1st dose. We’ll go on.
