Nice surfing last night! Love the 'catsickle'mention on your SS! Are you able to get a 1+ before you leave for work? This boy looks like he means business.

Have a great day!

Not today I'm not, but I left extra food along with his typical catsicles lol. He basically has food available now til probably +9 when I expect he'll have finished it all (unless he finishes it earlier - the bowls are always licked clean by the time I get home -- auto feeder removes food at +10). I'm pretty sure he'll be fine.
I've adjusted my schedule to get +1s on Wednesdays, so I've got only 2 cycles in a week where I can't get additional info. (Well, if it was emergent -- if he'd given me a green AM shoot -- I'd have figured something out)

Oh in other news...pee outside his box this AM -.- Buzzyyyyyyy....
It's because he's peeing on the edge of the box, not squatting far enough, and some of it made it over the edge. I know this bc I was able to grab a ketone test yesterday when I caught him starting to pee and that pee barely stayed in the box. Sigh. This cat.

I know I should add a second box - we've just always done fine with 1 giant box that we scoop 2x a day (for 2 cats). IDK that a second box would really help...since he pees on the edge of ANY box. But...I just hope it's not a sign that his UTI is still raging :(

We've been doing the antibiotics 2x a day, but it IS mixed into his food (vet told me to do it this way), so I worry he doesn't get "enough" of them. That said, the occasional peeing over the edge of the box has been a thing for a long time.
...did not ketone test floor urine since I freaking stepped in it first -.-

In Amber's last few months, I stupidly changed out the litterboxes to a different shape and size. She was a big girl, and had always peed with just her back half in the box and her front feet outside. After the change, even though the change was to a larger box, she somehow got really confused and, ever afterwards, turned herself around so that her front was inside the box, and her back half outside. With the predictable results.

Anyway, the one useful bit of info I can offer from that experience is that setting up puppy pads around litter boxes works really really well for simplifying cleanup and cutting down on aggravation, especially in early mornings when you have to go to work!

I do hope it's also just a little behavioral quirk and not the UTI for Buzzy. He is looking good!

The puppy pads thing were the other thing I was thinking. Or chux, rather -- I am gonna buy some chux to have on hand for this baby anyways (great for covering changing stations in public bathrooms), so might as well just buy enough to use for both.
Our box is the largest one on the market -.-

ughhh...I'm so tired
I want to sleep so badly
but now I can't :arghh:

I'm not actually concerned. I gave him no food at +3 at that 67, he fell more to 56 at +4. Fine. I just gave him some LC (1-2Tablespoons) as he was hungry.
Idk at what point it'll be safe to go to sleep. waaah

Oof. Can you possibly stay up until +5?

So far it's been a pretty gentle slide, and he may start heading up or at least just steady surfing from here, but if he has anything else in mind you kind of want to know that before deciding on a plan. Tonight might be a good night to just carb him up a bit so you can sleep...

Yeah I'm gonna grab a +4.5 and hopefully a +5 and then if I have to I'll carb him & leave my MC catsicles out overnight.
which is kind of a bummer bc I don't want to keep carbing him up in the 50s, ya know... but, I also am 6 months pregnant, whiny about it, and need to sleep lol.

Cool. 69 at +4.5. I mean he had a little LC 30 min ago, but still think we're probably in the clear. Will try to nab a +5 although he's kinda cranky at me now.
I did give him 2 pieces of Dr. Elsey's LC kibble as a treat this time bc he was so cranky about all the pokes. literally 2 pieces.
