2/24 Jonesy AMPS 304 - 1.25u; +6-308 ; PMPS 328 - 1.25u; +4 - 263

After an increase of .25, at +6, he's at 308.

Do you think the insulin is bad? Should I start a new vial? I've been using this one for about six weeks, it shouldn't be bad, should it?!

Many people use vials up to 5-6 months, if kept properly in the fridge.e

Looks like he's bouncing. I don't see any PM tests last night after preshot - wonder how low he got? I'll put my TR nag hat on - you really do need to get before bed tests every night. It's what keeps Jonesy safe.

Looks like a bounce from that nice blue 144 yesterday morning.

I used my first vial of Lantus for a year. Kept refrigerated the entire time and it was effective to the very last drop. It's easy to blame the insulin, but today's insulin is stable and unfortunately our kitties aren't. Unless you left the insulin on the dashboard of your car on a very hot day OR it was frozen at some point - which I understand de-stabilizes it, then it's not likely the insulin...

Hang in there...you've only had two cycles at the new dose...this stuff takes time...oh my it's a slow process...want some patience pants? I think I have a spare pair in the back of the closet :)

Thanks! I did end up changing the vial anyway. There was only about a 1/4 left, and although only 6 weeks old, that's usually around the time I change it out.

I'd sent my vet (not my regular vet, but the one that saw Jonesy on the day he was super sick and diagnosed, same clinic though) his curve info as well as some random days. She is well aware that it is on a human meter. She did suggest that I go up to 1.5, which I'm not going to do unless he officially earns it (through THIS board ;) ) I'm glad she's not getting all uppity as I see on the board, like some vets do! LOL

As his dental is next Tuesday, I'd brought up that he more than likely has infection in his mouth now. So tomorrow I'll pick up some type of antibiotic to see if we can get any inflammation under control before his dental.

Thanks! (OH!! And good news, it is official that all the paperwork has gone through, I have bought my wee little house that I love!!)

I laughed at the image of an insulin vial sitting on a melting dashboard! LOL Fair enough ;) I still don't fully understand a bounce. I've got a few minutes before I shoot Jonesy . . . will go read up again ;)

Congratulations on your new home!!! That's so exciting!!!!

Yeah...I know what you mean...I had an image of it in my head sitting there just boiling hot! Ya know, sun in Florida can heat the insides of a car up tremendously! Thankfully I've never left any insulin in the car! OMG...I'd be devastated losing that much $$$...ugh...

Ah! But I'm in CANADA where the test strips are like GOLD, but the Insulin is dirt cheap! LOL

Just managed to catch a ketone test, he is still showing "trace" amounts. Although that's not as good as negative, it is staying stable. I'll take it ;)

And thanks to @Wendy&Neko 's "nag hat" I remembered to get his plus four (Thanks Mommmmm!;) )
