Yes, I've watched the vid. Thanks. There is another cat at home and he gets in the way.....and starts fights. We'll figure this out. I will remember to use one row for each testing day. Thanks for the good juju, vibes and everything. All Paws crossed here.
Good vines, good juju, good wishes, good luck all being sent your way.
Linda, even if you don't test every cycle, every day, you probably still give Nova insulin.
So, one row for each day on the spreadsheet please. Otherwise, it's really, really hard for folks helping you to tell what is going on.
Ok to make notes in the Remarks column on the SS for reasons for not testing. Like having a "fractious" cat.
Have you seen this video? How to Hometest A Fractious Cat (Video from Bonnie and Junior)
It' just the am/pm I have probs with (and family) but hopefully things will change. I know I'm not hurting her.Good for your hubby. I hope he follows through. I know testing can be difficult for some people. Even though cats get used to the testing and it doesn't seem to bother them that much, it can be hard to get over the idea that you are "hurting" the cat.
The folks over at the Lantus forum will help you with dosing, I know. It could be time to try a 2.25 dose for a few cycles. I know you had a reduction recently, but that's how it goes sometimes. Panceases don't always heal at a steady level, so sometimes the dose goes down then back up. I wouldn't change until the morning tests are being done though, and until the good folks on the Lantus board advise you. I just wanted to mention the up and down dosing is pretty common, so don't get discouraged!
Sequester the cat causing the issues with testing. Or the cat you need to test. There is another cat at home and he gets in the way.....and starts fights.
Sequestering may be the answer.....he's kind of a butt head and Nova tolerates him to an extent. (she doesn't like him or my son---source of stress perhaps?--they moved in last year)Sequester the cat causing the issues with testing. Or the cat you need to test.
Nice, calm environment can help with the testing. Too much of a "zoo" atmosphere, can make it more difficult to gain cooperation from your cat. Put on some nice soft music. Or at least turn down the volume on the radio if you are blasting loud music. Or give Nova a pair of those "noise cancelling" headphones.
p.s. Thank you for putting rows on the SS for each day. Looking forward to seeing that.
