2/20 Simon PMPS 86, wondering if I'm managing this OK

I would greatly appreciate a pair of experienced eyes looking at Simon's spreadsheet. I realize I am not following the TR the way I am supposed to but he has been dropping rapidly and since I can't routinely test him during the day I reduced his dose more rapidly to be safe. Today he was at 62 when I got home from work, but I had to give him his heart meds (which he gets in food) so his PMPS of 86 was food influenced. I will check him before I go to bed tonight (at least once) but I guess I wanted to confirm that I am managing this OK. There seems to be such a fine line when we get down in the green with the lower dose, and I am still confused about the 2 dosing methods. Any input would be appreciated!

True, you're not really following either dosing method, but for now, what you're doing seems to be working!!

As long as you're getting those kinds of numbers, just chalk it up to the universe being aligned and hope it continues!

Simon is looking great. I would stay with the 1 unit for now as you are getting green numbers with it.
Make sure you get a before bed test in every night and if the BG is lower than the preshot, I would get another test in to see Simon is safe.
The main differences with TR and SLGS are
TR you can increase every three days if needed, but you need to be testing more often and you have to be feeding only a wet diet....no Dry food. Reductions are taken under 50

SLGS you wait a week before increasing the dose and you do a curve before increasing the dose,. Reductions are under 90.
You can feed a dry diet....but not recommended.

Thanks Chris, I hover between being grateful that he is in the blues and greens, but also anxious about "doing the right thing" at the right time. Simon's other health issues really complicate the situation. I live in a state of anxiety about this, believe me! I sure appreciate the support and wisdom offered here.

Thanks for your input! Simon never gets dry food - took him off of that 4 years ago after his sister developed IBD. He eats part home-cooked and part canned FF and Friskies Pates (thanks to the info I received here!). Sometimes it seems I am closer to doing SLGS but doing a curve is hard for me with my work schedule - I can only do them on weekends and that may not coincide with what is going on with him.
