Yoshi 2/16 amps 179 +6 51/63 +7 80

In your last post here, I suggested reducing to 6.0 today. I guess Yoshi just emphasized that point!

Good to see you are off tomorrow. That'll give you an opportunity to get rid of the depot.

Your spreadsheet is a little confusing. It shows that you already have a PMPS and +4 for tonight? If you in fact have not shot the night time dose ;), you could try doing 3 units tonight. That will be a BCS (big chicken shot) dose to help drain the depot further. With larger doses comes larger depots, which can be a pain since they hang around and keep giving lower numbers if that depot is overfull. Using the BCS will help drain that depot. Start with a 50% dose and see how Yoshi does on it. I found a 2/3 dose was the sweet spot for Neko. But as with all things high dose, start conservative. The other bonus of a 3 unit dose tonight is better sleep.:) And you won't have to worry as much when you go back to work as his depot will still be filling up the beginning of the week.

Sorry, I just fixed my spreadsheet. I updated it on my phone and it got wonky.

I think I confused myself yesterday. I didn’t know if he earned a proper reduction.

I’m scared to drain the depot because he’s doing so well.

when you drained the depot, did Neko stay on that 2/3 dose? Did you have to increase much?

BCS is a one time reduced dose. Just a depot drainer, then back to the regular dose. Yes you will see a bit higher numbers for a couple cycles but he should get back to blues once the new 6.0 unit depot builds back up. And the beauty of larger doses, is that often they barely notice the one time reduced dose.

I’d be scared to go from 3 to 6u. I think you’d go from 3 or 4u and slowly increase as needed. Maybe 6 is even to high for him? He seems to react more quickly to insulin now.

In your first post, you were talking about going down to 6 units. What I'm talking about is also going down to 6 units, but with an accidentally on purpose partial fur shot tonight, to drain the depot. 6.5 units is too much insulin. You've only been doing tiny reductions so the larger depot is still influencing today's numbers. I can't tell exactly how large the depot thinks it is, maybe around 6.75 units? Dunno, you've been modifying the dose each preshot so hard to tell. Regardless, going down to 6.0 units is over a 10% reduction in dose from where the depot thinks it is.

Got it. Pretending the 3U is a half fur shot and going back up to the intended dose makes more sense in my head.

I will give 3u tonight and 6 in am. Thank you for explaining @Wendy&Neko. Happy Sunday to you
