I'm hoping and praying I made the right decision by giving her 1u tonight, I've never shot a green before. We're just starting TR and I'm SCARED lol. I do have M/HC food available if needed, just wasn't able to stall tonight because of scheduling issue tomorrow. Think she'll be alright? I'll be monitoring.

Hi Elizabeth,
Panic is probably coming off the bounce tonight after that 78 yesterday amps.
I would get a +1 and a +2 to start with to see what's happening and give Panic a small snack of low carb with each of those snacks. You will need to monitor after that but if you get some early tests in you will be prepared for any drops instead of getting a nasty surprise at say +3.
I will watch for your updates. Please keep the SS up to date and the subject line with the tests. Thanks:)
Don't be scared. You are testing so are in control .

As long as you are testing and have HC and MC food and honey/karo you will be able to catch and manage any drops.
If you are concerned if the BG is dropping, offer low carb food if she's over 50, and if you feel anxious you can retest in 1/2 hour instead of an hour. You will get to know how Panic responds to the carbs..

The insulin is usually strongest in the first half of the cycle and sometimes we have to offer more food than normal to keep the numbers up. By monitoring you will be able to see when you need to do this. If you are unsure, always post and ask for help.

Do I test in half an hour?

Yes, good idea

+3 is 72, give a little more LC?

Panic's a good sport during testing but she's starting to give me the stink eye. o_O
Looks like she might be slowing down a bit. I would give 1 teaspoon l c and I think I’d test again in 1/2 hour just so we can catch any drop early.
Often when they are coming off the bounce that cycle can be strong. That is probably why she is dropping since PMPS. So a good idea to monitor closely.
You are both doing really well!

How big of an eater is she? We don't want to fill her up if she really needs to eat later in the cycle.

Or will she eat as long as there's food available?

She'll eat till I stop giving her food honestly. I'll break open the MC.

Fed 1 tsp MC (13%)

No food, wait an hour?
She noticed her autofeeder up on the table and got excited until she realized it was empty, now she's following me around expecting a handout.

Yes wait an hour. No food.
She responds well to carbs. That’s good to know. Write that in your SS remarks column for later reference.
Either that or she’s going to bounce again after that lovely run of healing greens.

Ah yes, was going to write in when I gave MC too, thanks for the reminder.
Hopefully she's coast and not bounce though. :nailbiting:

Hopefully no bounce but she’s not used to green numbers yet so don’t be disappointed if she does bounce again.. She’s looking good.
And having a good eater is such an advantage. Sheba was always a very motivated eater unless she was sick and it made a big difference knowing she would eat if the numbers were dropping.

Well Panic's no stranger to the stars unfortunately so I won't be surprised if she does bounce.
Ah never thought about that but you're right! It's funny though because prior to FD she was the cat that never cleaned her plate. She'd eat maybe three bites then be done. Go figure!

Another hour? It's 2 AM here but I'm still wide awake for once so I can wait another :P

Almost 2 hours since she ate, yes. I may be up another hour so I can get another test in as well.
Thank you so much for staying with us, it really means a lot!

Don’t stay up to test Panic She’ll be fine now as it’s 2 hours since she last ate and she’s rising. Grab sleep while you can.
Very happy to help. It’s only late afternoon here so no problem

Thank you! I hope you have a great rest of your day then Bron. :bighug: Wish I could truly express how much I appreciate it but I'm sure you know how much it means!
