2/14 Buzzy AMPS 239 = 0.75u; +4 (355 retest 318); +8 (332); PMPS 338 = 0.75u

Sorry it's going so rough for you...have you practiced on a syringe without insulin in it? Might be worth a try...

Using your calipers?

I don't have any calipers nor the money to get any at the moment - not even a spare $15. But, it's not that I can't see 0.75u, it's that I can't get the stupid plunger to stop correctly...or I get big-ass air bubbles...a combo of both, really.
I wasted like 5u today bc I couldn't actually tell if I was pulling insulin or air from the pen today (makes no sense; there' not an air bubble in my pen, but my eyes were playing tricks on me), so I wayyy over-pulled.

I just did a +4 test on Buzz, and he's gone UP since his dose this AM? I'm fairly certain I got it in him... :( I'm concerned. We're headed to the vet for his UTI urine culture, but... what on earth?

It should go up after food as the depot insulins don't kick in immediately, but usually +4 and on. So you add food and the blood sugar should go up some. The vet visit may be causing them to not come back down yet, esp if he or you are stressed about it.

yeah idk he's laying here on me seemingly very relaxed...but it's so hard to tell with cats.
His breathing is sporadically rapid & shallow - even while he sits here looking totally chill, so something is up (but it does go back to normal once he closes his eye and cat naps or after he takes a big breath). But also I feel like he's been this way with more rapid breathing than my other cat for a long time - like months if not forever. IDK...idk... I'm anxious and obsessive, but I also literally can't afford anything else after $1,500+ at the vet this month, so I have no choice but to sit here and wait, test at +12, shoot 0.75u and keep going.

I don't have a ton of data, but when we dropped from that 2.5 to that 1u, he had a weird flat/raised day, so maybe it's related to the drop from 1-0.75u.

I feel like I should've just stayed at the 1u despite him being in the 80s the other night. I know that's against SLGS, but I don't understand why SLGS has you drop if you touch the 80s (normal range) vs. TR requiring 40s,50s for an immediate reduction.
I'm probably going to need to switch to TR honestly & do the whole +2, +4 at night every night since I can't be here every day. I like the convenience factor of SLGS, but I don't like the basic requirement to stay so high, which doesn't that delay possibly eliminate the possibility of remission?? I really believe I should've shot 1u the morning after that evening of 80s. Now we're bouncing or something and back in the 300s all day, and I'm losing my mind. And it's only been a week!

Also one of the cats pooped on the floor for no discernable reason. Also, I hate this 0.75u dose. Period.

Ok I'm done whining.

338 tonight.
