We earned an immediate reduction last night by falling into the 80s.
Lower start today than yesterday, but I'm glad he at least made "figuring out what to do this morning" easy with this number; I was afraid it'd be below 200.

Hoping I didn't accidentally fur shot - my hand was a little damp, so of course he felt damp, but I was suddenly worried I stuck the needle (only 5/16'') all the way through the fold. Hopefully not!

Also, measuring 0.75U is ridiculously hard & wiggling the plunger did NOT work for getting it to just move a little bit -.-

We're doing SLGS, which says to hold a dose for 7 days (unless he goes too low). Since we've had to drop to 0.75u today, should I plan to now re-start my 7-day count and hold this 0.75u for 7 days? (Actually, it'd be a bit longer; my plan is to move curves to Friday.)

I agree that .75 is difficult - hence the calipers. Have you picked yours up yet from Harbor Freight? $15 and a little training and you'll be measuring that .75 with confidence. Congratulations on the reducie!

I read the post about calipers, but it's not seeing the 0.75 that's hard, it's getting the plunger to stop in the right place lol. I wish they made calipers you could like...connect to a syringe, and it would pull the plunger back for you to exactly the right spot :P
things I'd invent if that were my career....
 
I actually just realized I have a question...

Buzz gave me basically the same PMPS number tonight as last night, so I decided to go ahead and shoot but did shave it a little. He ate a lot too. Will nab some PM tests.
 
Try twisting the plunger, instead of wiggling, to move down that little bit. You can practise with a syringe filled with coloured liquid, to see how much a half twist vs full twist gets you.

Sorry, I said wiggling, but I meant twisting. Nothing happened for me when I did that. :(

I'm having the same problem with 0.75 unit. For some reason I seem to pick the worst syringe almost every time. I moved the plunger up and down a few times to get the syringe "warmed up" before I draw but a few of the syringes must not have enough lubricant because they don't glide smoothly and I can't even twist them, have to attempt to slowly push instead which ends up squirting out past the dose and then I have to restart. I agree, it's very frustrating.

What does tend to work best for me (right now) is this:

Step 1: pre-pump a few times as you described
Step 2: push pump all the way in, insert into pen
Step 3: overdraw to about 1ish units, pull out of pen
Step 4: flick the syringe to move the air bubble to the top
Step 5: slowly push air bubble out - usually end up with about 0.25-0.5 in the syringe still at that point.
Step 6: insert back into pen, overdraw again as little as possible
Step 7: flick again (I actually drew in some extra air this time first to, then flicked)
Step 8: Now I have a lot more space to push, so I push and try to get this push to stop nearly exactly right.
Step 9: twist and wiggle and all that non-sense to try to get like that last little drop out to get to the right point/shave the dose in this case tonight

Voila...I have a shot lol
 
I pull the syringe handle all the way put before pumping up and down. Then drawn insulin , then I spin the plunger like a dial and that has helped us
...similar to winding a watch
We did practice with coloured saline as mentioned above
