I have a friend traveling from the US at short notice and can bring me Zobaline. Is it available at local stores/pharmacies for purchase? I don't think I have the time to buy it online on Amazon or the Life Link website.

You may need to contact the lifelink company to ask them that question

I never gave folic acid with the b12 but @Bronx's dad (GA) did. He got some liquid FA and added it. I hope he will chime in.

B12 is water soluble so excess is eliminated in the urine.

Yes, it is his post I read about buying methyl B12 and folic acid separately. Cheaper than Zobaline.

Did you find that you got equally good results without adding folic acid?

Bandit has some hind leg weakness - barely discernable but I want to start her on B12 before it gets worse.

The Folic acid is required to help with the absorption of the Methyl B. I think @Diane Tyler's Mom buys them separately but not sure if she orders or gets them from a pharmacy.

I got the liquid folic acid from Amazon & have used both of these. But says neither available right now:

Here is the Methyl B I used:

I really cannot answer if it worked the same as Zobaline since Bronx's problem was more arthritic.

If there is folic acid in the food, would that be sufficient to aid absorption of the B12?

Hi I bought the methyl B-12 online from Vitacost and the folic acid from a supermarket or pharmacy.
I buy the folic acid 400 mcg and cut then in half and crush them, because the Zobaline has 200 mcgs in it.

Is she having hind limb weakness now that wasn't present at diagnosis when her numbers where in the 300-400s? Hmmm....I might also rule out joint/arthritis issues maybe. I know you were already looking at joint supplements that were okay for diabetics. I just associate neuropathy with higher numbers although I know that ECID.

i can't tell if she has hind leg weakness or if i am imagining it. she is still quite nimble when it comes to jumping from surface to surface. but i feel like she is less mobile than she used to be. as in, she seems reluctant to move much. don't know if that's hind leg neuropathy, general weakness from having lost so much weight or arthritis (an option i hadn't thought of till now)

Is the dosage of Zobaline linked to the weight of the cat? Or the severity of the hind leg weakness?

I know B12 is water soluble and one needn't worry about an overdose since it gets flushed out with urine.

My concern is the reverse - since I have to get it from the US (and that is dependent on friends bringing it for me), I'd like to make it last as long as I can by giving Bandit just as much as she needs and not more.

I don't suppose anyone knows this?

Hi Bhooma, LifeLink suggests 1 tablet per day but they also note that the daily value has not been established. I gave (still give) Leo one per day, crushed in his food.
If you wanted to give more, you could check with your vet.
    I hope this helps. :bighug:
