so, I have a question regarding HYPO. If I tested her just now at +7 and she's this low- does it mean she was lower before and her body brought her back up? I guess my concern is- can they get into HYPO and then come out from it but what it did while they were in that phase was damaging to their body? Does that make sense?
She ate at +4.5 and just now at +7. Its funny I wasn't even going to stop back home but something told me I should.

Would her +7 have raised her up a little? 50s is too low to be considered surfing right?

My anxiety while I am away is this- Say I am gone all day- and I get home and get a +10 lets say- and its in the 100s- does that mean she dropped during her nadir? And if so, how much did she drop? How will I know if she's dropping too much while I am away?
What about a PMPS number that is extremely high- could that mean she dropped really low during the day and she's bouncing?

What if her numbers dropped to the 20s at some point today and she managed to get her way back up- what damage did that do to her while she was in that range. (for example, I have asthma and I was told having an asthma attack, depending on the severity, if it doesn't kill you, does leave damage to your lungs. Do you see how I am relating it?)

Thanks everyone! this has been an anxiety of mine.

Max got into the 30’s at times but never had a symptomatic hypo. If she stays in the 50’s she is surfing. There’s no way to know if she went lower or not. Nice and healing for the pancreas. It’s pretty late in the cycle. I’d feed a little lc and get another test in 30-60 minutes.

I agree with above - feed a little LC food - no need for alarm...these are great numbers! Test again as advised. Looks like there's the beginning of a little rise. You may want to test hourly until PMPS just to see what's coming your way.

Please update your SS - looks like she's down, but just a tad. This is a very good number!

How long before PMPS? That's when you may have to stall and make a decision about the evening dose.

How long before you have to start withholding food? Can you test again in an hour?

Just a spoon or two. She’s likely to start rising but just in case you want to keep her hungry. Check in a half hour after she eats.

You'll want to take the food up at 9+, so that the PMPS is not food-influenced. It's important to know what that number is without food because it will be the basis of your dose decisions this evening.

You can feed her a little low carb until two hours before PMPS...

But....if she’s dropping you will need to forget about that and keep feeding. If you stop feeding keep testing because a drop under 50 means a reduction and you would then feed.

She’s not coming up a lot. Wonder what her little body has in store for her tonight

She’s surfing nicely. I’d stop feeding but test again in 60 to make sure she’s not dropping.

Don’t be surprised if you see a bounce to higher numbers after this nice run of greens. It’s normal.

Just because a cat has low numbers, doesn't mean they had a hypo episode. I hope Mimi surfs safely tonight.

Now, is it possible she can just not bounce after the drops- she always does- is there a point where they stop bouncing from low numbers? I know ECID but generally speaking.
Do you think she needs a reducie?

HD is short for High Dose (a dose higher than 6u)
A BCS is a one-off reduced dose used when a HD kittys insulin needs suddenly decrease.

Ya you know what’s funny is I wanted to name my next cat Batman no matter what they looked like- and he just happened to have a little mask on! I got him when he was 2 months (he’s 9 now) and Mimi when she was 6 months (she’s 10).

+1 201... Mimi’s spent enough time in the water today, she’s made her way off shore to the sunny spot she likes to hide out in. You know cats- they are afraid of water and love their sun!
