Scratches 1/30 PMPS 104 +2 59

I'll add she's been eating her low carb fancy feast right along. She had a can for dinner and and is working on another half a can and she's still dropping

I’d give her a little mc and check again in a half hour. I’m going in to an appointment soon so can’t stick around. I’ll check back when I’m out.

I would test in half an hour just to catch the drop if it’s happening fast. Then perhaps a higher carb food since it’s early in the cycle.

As I was about to post, I see @tiffmaxee posted similarly. I’m also about to go in an appt but will stay here until then.
I would still test in half an hour even tho you fed HC. Next time, don’t overfill him so early. He’s still in safe numbers.

This isn’t a 911 situation yet. And could you add Scratches name to the title? Also the date. You have two threads going on and it can get confusing.

I usually just leave her food down and she munches throughout the night. She never eats this much at once so she can probably tell her sugar is a bit low for her. I feel teaspoon hc and will test in another few minutes. I changed the title.

Thank you for changing the title :)

We say not to overfeed when they’re dropping because you don’t know how long they’ll do it for so you want to give enough food to bump up their BSL but not too much that they won’t eat next time you need them to. Make sense?

Yes. I just wasn't thinking she would drop so quickly ahhhh stupid me. Should have known, she had a history of this first starting out, now I remember how scary it is.

After thirty minutes she's at 74 what should I do now? She's still munching on fancy feast. Should I not let her eat that? Feed her more gravy food? When should I test again?

Sorry I wasn't thinking to just update all this is my previous thread. I really have no sense of technology or anything like that so yeah

We can move over to my previous thread and disregard this one and just reply to my previous if that's easier for everyone. I'm sorry, I'm thinking this is the same as like Facebook or something and it's not haha.

That a nice little bump up. I would hold off with the food now unless she stops dropping again. What you want to see is 2 test in a row 30 minutes apart and holding above 50 without food influence.
I left her fancy feast down, she isn't eating it right now but I'd feel better knowing she has it. She's always up for some gravy food anyway, she's never too full for that but in all seriousness, I will test again in twenty or so, that'll be about 30 since the last test

I'm not clear what % carb you fed, so a suggestion, if you don't mind, can you please add some comments on the % carb you fed and when in your SS? That will help you in the future as well.
I fed fancy feast gravy lovers (probably not the best choice but I panicked) one teaspoon. What would be considered mc? I know the gravy food is hc right?

Depends on the variety, most of the FF gravy lovers are 15% carb which is MC. Some gravy food is over 20% which would be considered HC. I think most of us use around 18% as the cutoff for HC but others can correct me if I'm wrong :)

+3 is 69. Should I feed her something? When should I retest? She just finished the rest of her fancy feast. Maybe I shouldn't have let her have the rest of it? I have a timer for 30 minutes.

It’s about the same as the 74. I would give a couple tsp of LC food to encourage her to surf. Since it is early in the cycle she could still drop again. So I’d test in 30 minutes and let that test be your guide as to whether you should continue to feed some and keep testing.
@Christie & Maverick , will you be able to watch out for them? I need to take care of my mom and might not be back on tonight.

Okay. Thank you so much for all your help!!

No problem @Bobbie And Bubba I'll be here, hope all is well with you :bighug:.

I agree, I think some LC is a good idea, sometimes it is a bit of an experiment with carbs...you want to find just the right amount that keeps her flat.
She is so close to needed a drop of insulin. Crazy to think four months ago I couldn't get her under 300. Something in her body just clicked into gear I think.
