1/27 PMPS 197, +2 @88, +3 @55, +4 @65, +5 @64, +5 hrs. 40 min @65

Hey all. So Kit cat's bg at PMPS was 197, so I gave her 0.75 unit (my brain swears the rule is to shoot if over 150). I tested at +2 and got 88, which seemed like a big drop. Then at +3 it was 55, which caused a minor freak out. +4 was at 65, and +5 was at 64.
Should I continue testing hourly? It's early in her treatment and I know there aren't a lot of test numbers to go off of.

She has been fed. She free feeds except during both 2 hour fasting times. She ate a little after I tested her at 1130 CT (so 26 min ago)

OK...try not feeding her more but test again about now...and plan on testing at least an hour from now....we want to make sure she's really coming up without you having to keep feeding her

Her test now was 65. Is it okay for her to have her freeze dried test treats while I'm testing her, or will that affect her bg too much?

Those are fine...they're pure protein so won't raise her BG up much (if at all)

Also, if you're still doing SLGS, she's earned a reduction down to .5

I am - does it make a difference if she's only been on .75 since Saturday? Or is it because she dropped so low?

It's better to take the reduction …...you had a skipped shot last night and she still dropped below the reduction point tonight

You can always go back up if you need to. You can't take it out once it's injected

That's good....looks like she's going to go up (hopefully she won't bounce by morning but you know how these kitties can be!)

If you need to get to bed, I think you could leave some food down for her and call it a night.

Thanks for your help tonight - I'll also try to get her to eat a bit before I head to bed to be safe. I've kept her awake enough tonight she may just sleep all night herself.
