01/25/20 Apple PMPS 144 AMPS FS - Shot or no shot? Help!

Are you able to test during all the cycle if necessary?
Do you have plenty of test strips?
Do you have high carb food and honey/karo?
I think you should be fine to shoot the full dose if yes to the above questions,

I would get a +1 and +2 and we can go from there. I'll watch for updates
Yes to all 3 points... Odd question, I shaved the injection site so I could more clearly see whether or not the needle went under the skin. Upon taking the needle out, there was a small drop of insulin that came out with it. Is this normal? I don't recall this ever happening before, but maybe it happened this morning, leading to the lower BG and drop of insulin I felt.

Avery, sometimes if you aren't holding the plunger down just tight enough it can leave a drop in the barrel - it's probably what you saw when you withdrew the needle...some folks will leave the syringe in for a few seconds and squeeze gently but firmly on the plunger just to make sure it's all in...I have a hard time holding on to Luci for any more than just a few seconds when I'm giving her the injection, but have not noticed insulin on the needle after withdrawing - some say there's a little tiny bit left in the barrel...something to kind of practice on if you can get that kind of cooperation from Apple. :)

Just an FYI, I would have gotten another test in 30 min. from your initial test with the 140. It may be a double dip or it may be a dropping number. Getting the early tests will tell you. If it's a dropping number, you will need to test early (like you planned) and often. Shooting a dropping number isn't a bad thing, you just need to be prepared.

We're testing now. Will get back to you with the number.

It's 152 now, doesn't seem to be plunging thankfully.

Yes feeding to keep them up 3 out 5 tests. We probably won't shoot at a low of 140 like we did at the PMPS, his numbers go so low.
If you are able to test during the cycle, dropping to the numbers Apple dropped to is quite safe.
If you are trying for remission, getting him down into green healing numbers is the way to go.
If you can’t test during the cycle then you may want to have a bit higher Preshot for now.
If you are testing and have some higher carb food and honey if needed you are in control.
Well done this cycle!

Okay, we talked it over and when the two of us are available we'll shoot around 120. What would be the absolute minimum that you'd feel safe shooting?
