01/14 Molly PMPS 27 +1@ 146 @1.5 214 +1 205 +2 173

You'll need to skip tonight with a number that low. We don't usually recommend shooting any numbers below 50. You'll still want to get some tests in tonight because of the depot. I'd test in 20 to 30 minutes to start with to make sure she's coming up. Molly earned a reduction to 0.5 units with that 27.

I see you have a +1 now, with that HC food on board, you have a carb-influenced number. The HC will wear off, can delay your shot and you retest in 1/2 hour and see where she is at?

The 27 seems a bit out of place, even if she didn't eat at lunch, but then you've had a few tests like that, it is possible you aren't getting enough blood for the meter, those FSL meters can be a bit finicky, in my experience when not enough blood sample is registered.

What is your last test please? And just so I'm clear, since the timeline seems off from when you posted PMPS and +1, when you tested and got 27 you fed HC?

It would be a good idea to make notes on your SS when you feed low numbers and what percent carb so you (and those who try and offer help) can see at a quick glance.

I got home and tested her she was 27. I fed her HC and rested. She has gone this low before on Christmas day

Thank you for clarifying, so at this point, you are off schedule by 1 1/2 hours, so you will need to ensure you can adjust your shot time tomorrow a.m. and into the next few cycles until you get back on schedule. Are you able to do that? You won't be able to shoot normal time, you will have to adjust...see here http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/getting-back-on-a-12-12-shot-schedule.101059/

If you shoot tonight, it will be reduced dose, 0.5u. Please get a +1 and +2 and I will watch for you, I can stay with you up until +3. Your choice.

Yes, I can get a +1 and +2 and +3. I’ll reduce back to 0.5 u. So an hour from now I’ll test :) thank you for staying up.

Hi Adrienne, Christie asked if I could look in on you.
Mollie is a beautiful girl...I am very partial to ginger kitties.
Just to clarify........
The PMPS was 27, you fed HC food, then 1 hour later it was 146, then you gave the shot of insulin when the BG was 214 (11.9) which was 1 1/2 hours after the original PMPS.
If that is correct, could you adjust the SS to say in the PMPS column:
27@+12
146@+13
214@+13.5
Stack them on top of each other like this in the PMPS column.
You might also put in the remarks column that you fed HC food when the number was 27. Thanks.
You may need to test past +3 to make sure Molly doesn't decide to drop again...even though you have reduced the dose, the depot from the previous dose will influence this cycle.

Ok, I’ll fix the SS tomorrow at work on my computer. I use my iPhone and iPad at home.
Just to clarify I give Molly her shot tomorrow @ 7am depending on BG. Then 6:30 for PMPS and 6am the next morning back to normal time?

Yes, correct and thank you for checking in on me :)

142. Well you do have an active cycle on your hands.
You could leave it until +5 to test but I wouldn't leave it longer than that.
Could you set the alarm for 2 hours? Would you wake up?
If it is still dropping at +5 you could abort the cycle so you could get some sleep, but even then I would test at +10.
What do you think @MrWorfMen's Mom
@Christie & Maverick
I didn't sleep much last night and my mind is a bit foggy and it's only 4.45 pm.

I’ll test in 15 min that’ll be +5 go from there. She had another LC snack.

Another little drop, enough again that I'd feed again. It's not super drastic, still within 20% from +2, looking at Molly's SS I see similar cycles. Molly may flatten out by +5 and surf. I'd be tempted to offer some higher LC here.

The other option as Bron mentioned is set a timer for +5 and catch a quick cat nap. I've done that on occasion too, just to be sure numbers have flattened. Not ideal, I realize...the alarm for wake up to go to work comes pretty quickly on nights like these.
