01/12 Walter AMPS 401 +3=331 +5=76. PMPS 626

There are some cycles where I'm curious what he did midcycle. Depending on your feeding schedule, you might want to think about catching him earlier in the drop with some food, it might help with the bounces.

Ok— could do that in the evening for sure.
+6=79 ( he’s eaten nearly 1/2 can of LC FF— should I give him HC)?

No need for HC, this is a nice little surf , he's staying flat, and since he's at +6 HC would definitely put the brakes on his duration. You could give just another teaspoon of LC again the keep him surfing, but it's up to you...with Mav I find feeding even LC after his nadir tends to shorten the insulin duration, but you know Walter best...he is doing very nicely!

I know it is hard when you have to work, I found the autofeeder helped a great deal so I could split up mini meals to help feed through the cycle. I can't remember if anyone has mentioned that to you before. Depending on where Mav is at before I leave for work I can leave a little higher LC like 9% instead of his usual FF if I think he's going to have an active cycle.

I think I’ll just keep monitoring him and see how this plays out. If he dips, I’ll give him some LC (unless the number is too low). He seems ok ( but hungry— which is not unusual for him).
Thanks much!

Ah—that makes sense. I’ve been leaving the double feeder out (super old—have had it for years— probably should get one with more buckets) but didn’t think about higher LC food.

It is a bit of an experiment...it took me quite some time to work out what *usually* works for us, but then Mav throws me a curve ball now and again. It might be worth trying some combinations of higher LC and earlier snacks in the cycle, maybe to help keep those bounces from being sky high. Just a thought. Walter did clear this last bounce more quickly which is good ;)

This is very helpful. I’m still learning this game ( and there seems to be a LOT to learn).o_O
