I have to go into work tonight 2 hrs early and will be giving Zeke's dose at 6p instead of 8p. His numbers have been green for a while, hoping I don't mess it up. His last number was 73 at 2p, one hr ago. Please advise.

Do you know anyone who could do the shot for you? If not, I think I’d skip tonight. His numbers are looking lovely, but I wouldn’t risk a shot that early. Shooting early can act like a dose increase, which he does not need.

No, there isn't anyone... I'm working towards a decrease, I really was hoping to give him 1u instead of 1.25???
Sorry to ask for advice and then argue  but, I don't want a jump and have to start over counting green days again, what do you think?

Tonight’s cycle would still be heavily influenced by the 1.25 unit depot if you shoot tonight.

I had figured you were working towards a week in green. Restarting the clock a few days isn’t going to hurt him. Shooting early when you cannot monitor might.

At what + time of your normal cycle time to you get back from work?

I'll be getting home in the AM at 745a, same shot time of 8a. Would I have to restart, knowing this is what happened?

I would restart the count. A skip will deplete the depot so numbers might go up for a few cycles. That’s OK, as long as he can safely stay green, it’s all good healing time for his pancreas. :D

If you shoot two hours early, that’s too much overlap. You will see insulin effect of the previous shot overlap with the action of tonight’s, potentially bringing him lower than he otherwise would do. It’s about safety since you cannot monitor.

His SS is looking gorgeous btw! Too bad about the darn old job getting in the way of stuff at home, huh?

I hope he'll be on his best behavior while you're gone tonight and reward you with a nice low number tomorrow - just something in the low blues would be okay, right Zeke? Be a good boy tonight for mama!

Safety always first. 2 hours early is just to early without any monitoring. Since he’s been so regulated lately the skipped shot might hardly effect his numbers.

You guys are going to think I’m bad but I gave him a skinny 1u...just had not posted yet. I left an extra can of LC with a spoon of HC mixed in.
I just think he’ll be fine. He is very carb sensitive and a big eater.;)
