1/1 jebat amps 146 +3 162 +6 142 pmps 167 +6 164

@Waheeda -

I'm going to respond to your question about early/late shots in your thread rather than hijack Bella's thread with the discussion.

The issue of whether to skip the shot isn't black or white. Realistically, it all depends on your schedule. For some caregivers, they have a very challenging work schedule and really can't manage to be off track even by an hour. Medical issues, such as having a cat that has recently survived diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) is also an issue -- you do not want to skip a shot in a cat that is recently post-DKA. If you're ever. unsure what to do, post and ask for input since the individual situation can vary.

Also, do not presume that Jebat won't see green! Our kitties do not like to predictable.

Thanks for ur reply.
Give u this scenario. If I’m late by 1 hour for amps, but I still shoot at the dose, do I shoot for pmps 12 hours later? Or do I stick to original time which would be 11 hours later? Or do I shoot maybe 11.5 hours later?
I’ll do a +6 reading later but I strongly do not think he’ll go green but if he surprises me with one, I’ll be so happy.

This is going to be a generic reply so please remember that each scenario can be different.

If your AM shot is an hour late, you could shoot at +11.5 in the evening. The next evening, you can also shoot at +11.5 so you are then back on your original schedule. If it makes more sense for you, it's always fine to shoot 12 hours later and make the adjustment in the morning. You can always adjust the time by 15 min at every shot time until you're back on schedule, as well.

It's possible to shoot at your usual time (+11) IF the numbers are high and/or if you can be awake to monitor, have strips and high carb food should the early shot act like a dose increase. Some cats can be very sensitive to schedule changes so you need to be alert to that possibility.

Can I ask a favor? Can you drag the tab for the 2020 numbers on your spreadsheet all the way to the left? Your spreadsheet is opening to the 2019 numbers.

Ok great! Now I understand and know what to do. I’m on the other side of the world and if I post for help during preshot times, there might not be members online to help.
Have shifted 2020 to the left. I was wondering why I kept opening previous years sheet. Now I know. Thanks for pointing that out.

So +6 number is not any lower than pmps. I’m getting good at predicting his numbers based on preshot numbers. Do you think these are bouncing numbers cos of the green we had few days back? I increased the dose 3 days ago.

Sorry for the hijack but just wanted to wish you a Very Happy New Year Sienne!! :bighug:

Jebat is seeing lovely flat cycles. I would just caution that predicting is fine as long as Jebat cooperates! I always found with Gabby that the minute I thought I could predict what was going to happen in a cycle, she threw me a surprise. (Gabby was also prone to "exciting" cycles.)

Usually, we have people around 24/7. Wendy is often up late for someone who's in the US and Bron is in Australia. But, you are correct -- knowledge gives you a great deal more flexibility if not one is around.

Would you be comfortable listing what country you're in in your signature? It can help us to avoid asking you to do something in the middle of the night.

I’m so thankful to this group. Someone usually is around to reply me but I want to be prepared. Cos my amps is really early and my eyes are half-closed.

so far jebat cooperates. He always gives similar trend which I’m really pleased with. I’m back to work and can’t fully monitor during the day and he runs lower during the day instead of night. But I hope to see more greens soon.

I’ll update my signature. No problem.
