12/28 jebat amps 173 +6 158 pmps 173

You’re welcome! Looks like 1u is better for him but I think you’ll find after his curve later this week that he might need more. But that’s ok...whatever he needs to move him back towards remission!
Ya, I think it’s quite obvious he needs more to bring him lower. Looks like a trend when I up the dose he will give good numbers for a couple of days before the numbers climb up more. How do u explain this in terms of the depot? It’s not filled up yet so that’s why need to increase the dose? Does the depot hold a fixed volume or it change?

I know it looks to you like the numbers climb but he’s high blue to low yellow so he’s really pretty flat.

However, it is common to see a cat respond well to a dose increase only to then climb a bit and need more insulin. It’s as if that little bit of extra insulin helps at first but it’s not the “fitting” dose.

A dose will, over several cycles, fill the depot to that dose. If it isn’t enough to bring the numbers down, an increase is needed. If it is too much and overfills the depot, a reduction is needed. But when it’s just right, it stays in stasis sometimes for a while. That’s when you see dose reductions that are earned by being in normal numbers a week.

I see the same trend each time we increased. Looks like almost enough but after 3rd day it doesn’t look enough. I know the protocol says after 7 days, but can’t it be tweaked to 5 days? It’s the impatient me asking. Have a good Sunday!

Experienced members with data and who know their cat can choose to modify SLGS. Normally, I would say for most people doing SLGS, they should hold for seven days and do a curve but you’ve got enough data and as long as you can continue to monitor, it makes sense to increase 0.25u so we can try and get him back to the Falls.

NOTE: this dosing advice is just for Jebat. Waheeda is experienced and Jebat has been in remission. She also tests much more than most doing SLGS.

That’s great! Thanks Marje. Cos I’m seeing the same trend after few increases. I would love to move to TR but my civvvies need the dry food and jebat will occasionally eat that too. Somewhere between TR and SLGS would be best for me.
I’ll increase tonite to 1.25u.
Thanks again! Hopefully that would nudge him to green.

There’s not really a “somewhere between SLGS and TR”. They also shouldn’t be mixed and matched. There is custom dosing for experienced CGs who know their cats and have data. :)
