Christmas Day
Good Morning everyone here in LB&L land - ah yes, it's the 'day after'...it was an enjoyable day, but busy...why does every day feel like it goes by in such a rush? We had a nice walk on the beach to start our day after a cup of coffee and cinnamon babka (yes, something sweet to start the day!)...
Came home to find Miss Luci already in the lagoon! Made BLT's for breakfast and had some leftover cheesie potatoes from Christmas Eve dinner - then started working on The 12 Layer Cake for Christmas day dinner. I made chocolate ganache - which requires heating bittersweet chocolate and cream - and then cooling - I didn't realize the cooling part was going to take so long - finally had to put the thing in the freezer to get this show on the road! Time was running out and I was starting to stress about getting this thing put together in time to leave for my sister in law's - about 30 minutes away. Then made buttercream for the outside...had to make two batches of that - this cake was huge!

Anyway, once DH got this thing loaded into the car - I was worried it was going to topple over - but it made it - in one piece and made quite the impression on the relatives and friends. We had a great meal and enjoyed everyone's company. Florida is a great place for Christmas since we get to sit by the pool while we wait for dinner - a beautiful afternoon!
The cake was a hit, delicious too! Challenge met

Enjoy your day everyone. Hope you and your kitties are well! Here's a pic or two of the 12-layer cake. I only wish I could invite you all over for a cup of coffee and a slice of cake - party!
