Good morning everyone, Happy Christmas Eve!

We’ve been MIA for the past few days and haven’t posted, seems like forever, I miss you all very much!

We’re all good here and pretty much ready for Christmas but it’s been very hectic to say the least! My FIL’s birthday was on the 21st and he’s in his late 80’s so we like to make as big a deal as possible and celebrate with him and my MIL. My DH made a delicious "Donkey Kicking" Mac and Cheese and I made him a beautiful chocolate cake!

Leo’s been happy and purry in his new favorite hang-out under the Christmas tree! I contemplated raising his dose on the night of the 21st but he overheard the conversation I had with my DH obviously, because he went down to 50 at +3. :rolleyes: I guess we’ll give it another couple of days and see how things go. Thoughts are welcome.

Our son arrived from Waterdown yesterday to spend the week with us! I’m so happy, I missed my other baby! Our very good friend R. is arriving today and then the rest of the family tomorrow morning.

Oh the party for your dad sounds fabulous! I'd love to see a pic of that chocolate cake???

And don't you just love all the assistance Leo is providing with the wrapping? Luci does the same...rattling paper and a potential box to jump into are too much for her to resist...but that's about all the help I get...just enough to be cute...

For the frosting, the recipe called for ¾ cups of butter, 3 cups of confection sugar, 1 ½ of cocoa powder and 1 tablespoon of vanilla!!! Even I knew that wasn’t going to work so I free poured at least a cup of 35% cream into it until I liked the consistency. It was my first time making this recipe from www.foodlavie.com and there were a couple of serious mistakes in it. I ended up placing a couple of 911 calls to my BF who’s a baker and got it figured out but sooooo stressful. In the end, it was worth it because it tasted amazing!! :p
