I'm not sure why you've called the vet - is there something in yesterday's post about that?

I called the vet because she is low and they instructed me to call if that’s the case. It’s not often her glucose drops this much, she usually is high. A few weeks ago she lost her vision and is suspected to have had a seizure due to low glucose levels. Following that we reduced her insulin and she was in the 500-700 range. I had her at the vet on Sunday and they tested for ketones which was negative.

Have you fed her to steer her away from going too low?

That's a perfect BG number - yes unusual but a great number for Sammie.

How soon will you be testing again?

Are you transitioning to wet food? I see in your signature that you're feeding Hills dry??

I gave her a little wet food and some kibble. She had food in her surefeeder, I’m not sure why she didn’t eat it.

I wish it were possible, but transitioning fully to wet food isn’t an option because she has to be on prescription diet. It would cost me about $5.50 per day. On top of insulin, test strips, and vet bills I can’t afford it. I began reducing the amount of kibble she has in the evening and replacing it with some wet food, in hopes that even a partial wet diet will be of some help.

I am home for the rest of the evening and can test as frequently as necessary.
