Happy Sunday!
Poor Phoebe Squeak is not a happy camper today. I discovered a cut/scratch just inside her left ear and when it started to heal, she scratched it and it started bleeding. So hoping to avoid an infection and/or vet visit, I put ointment on it and put her in an inflatable collar (which I still have from when she tried to remove the Freestyle Libre sensor).
She has been moving down the dosing scale lately, but I fear the stress of the collar is causing her BG to rise. I hope I can take it off soon because I can't tell if this is a failed reduction or not. Any and all advice appreciated.

Do you know what caused her to scratch? Ear infection, wax, yeast?

Only thing I can offer from 2 cats with horrible gunky ears is to keep nails trimmed, clean ears routinely.

Thanks. I think it happened when she was playing with her little brother, Luigi. I should trim both their nails. I appreciate your advice.

Well she looks absolutely adorable ... but I'm sure she hates that collar! Hopefully that ear will heal quickly and getting those nails cut will help avoid further injury.

Yeah, she doesn't look happy - lol (laughing with you, not at her). Poor thing. I wish they hadn't quite making the Halo salve - it was wonderful. Are you using neosporin ointment on the scratch?

I used Neosporin with pain relief and I ordered a wound spray from Chewy that should arrive soon.
