12/16 Chanel AMPS 357 PMPS 354

Good luck with the new dose. I hope Chanel slides down today.
I hope so too. I may need to have another conversation with her about it :). Yesterday, she slept pretty much the entire day and this morning she looked down and upset. She does not like at all that I go to work and leave her alone. We bought a little tree for Christmas (those that come in pots) and ornaments for it. She was interested in the tree, so I hope she will get more interested after I put all the ornaments and lights and of course, her gifts under it...they should come today. I would like her to get to exercise a little, but Chanel nowadays is such a spoiled baby that at the mealtime, she looks at me to get her up on the bed (not that she cannot do it herself, just exercising her 'owner' rights:)).
I see that Furball is also on SLGS. Are you trying to get her off dry food gradually? If yes, how is it going? What dry food does she eat? Chanel hates the Dr. Elsey's cleanprotein Chicken formula and I was not able to find one that has less than 10% carbs except that one.

I'm doing SLGS because I don't feel comfortable increasing during the work week when I can't monitor as much, not because of dry food. Furball eats only canned food.

That means you have a feeder, right? How is the wet food behaving in the feeder? Do you do free feeding or have the baby Furball on a food schedule? I tried before to leave some wet food out for her and when I came home, the entire place was stinky, fishy :). No wonder the princess did not touch it. I ordered the feeder on Amazon but unfortunately it will not come until January 6th (I guess there are so many orders out there with the holidays kicking in) :(

Looking beautiful as ever Chanel, good luck with the new dose!!
Have a wonderful day Laura!
Thank you Sonia. I hope you and Leo started the Monday with happy faces and purry moods. The good things about diabetes? Because hey, there are other health issues that it is hard to find a silver line in them. As I said, the good things about diabetes are:
1. The baby can go back to health.
2. They purr more and let you love them and hold them longer.
3. You get more aware of their habits and that helps in designing better diets, better environment, better everything.

The best thing about being on FDMB? For me: NOT SO MANY NIGHTMARES AT NIGHT. Before FDMB, those couple of hours of sleep were filled with horrors of hitting the vein, getting blood everywhere, not feeling sure that I actually help Chanel and not hurt her.
Thank you for everything you have done and continue doing here, I am grateful and my words actually do not come even near to the feelings I encountered and filled me since I joined this wonderful website: the love you have for your little ones, the sorrow for those who crossed the bridge, the excitement of dressing into the PJs when your little baby is going to the beach in her/his way to the lagoon and the best party ever when they hit OTJ.
I feel blessed and lucky to have you all here to help my furbaby getting better.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

No I don't have a feeder. I just leave food out during the day and night. I tried feeding on a schedule when Furball was first diagnosed, but all my cats didn't eat much because they were used to eating whenever they wanted. They were hungry all of the time. Now I free feed.
I think I will start leaving some wet food out again. The thing is that Chanel is also a nibbler and does not eat much during day or night. The other thing is that she likes the broth in the Fancy Feast so she eats that first. Then the meat becomes impossible to eat because it dries out like crazy:banghead:

I hope Chanel slides down for you Laura! It’s crazy this time of year for Amazon, but I’m really surprised about you having to wait until January 6th! Crazy!!

Have a great day!

My cats eat fancy feast and I mix about 1/4 can water with each can of food, I find it keeps them more full and keeps the food fresh longer. For smell I find the chicken and turkey flavours better than shrimp/fish ( makes sense)

I will try that, thank you for the tip:) It would be nice to have her eat wet food during day instead of those kibbles.

It might be because I did not have PRIME at the time I ordered...now I have :)
Prime is an essential for me now... it has spoiled me... whenever I order from a website I’m like: what? I’m supposed to wait 3 days like a PEASANT!? :P

I was a PEASANT so many months...while my husband had PRIME but w did not know we can link more phones to one account. We were lucky because I am a big mouth and like to ask like a thousand of questions a day. PEASANT no more...but with that feeder coming on Jan 6 I feel more like a pheasant :banghead::arghh:;)

She was moping today when I got home, maybe feeling lonely. My husband works from home today because he is fighting a cold and he came in the room while I was feeding her and said 'I guess you did not get the memo, young lady. I am working from home today if you want to come visit me.' Guess what, she finished her food and got out the closet to go see him in the other room. She likes having someone at home even if she does not want to interact with us, she just checks on us and then it is CLOSET TIME (snoozing, napping etc.).

So cute!!

Chanel? Closet? Why the two words do not seem to belong together on the same line!!! I presume the closet is fully decorated in a motif becoming to the Queen! :cat:

I hope she will respond to this new dose soon...these cats have their own way of doing what they do. Look at Miss Luci's SS and you'll see what I mean...she just does her thing - when she's good and ready - and she gives me the 'look' - I call her HRH many times - as I am just her to serve... (HRH = Her Royal Highness)...or 'Her Majesty' ... as she reminds me what my place in the household really is quite often...:cat:

I loved your pheasant or is it peasant while waiting on merch from Amazon or other vendors... glad you've got that Prime family membership thing going now.:D

Have a wonderful evening Laura!:bighug:

I am a TOTAL PHEASANT!!! They misplaced Chanel's gifts!!! Why oh why, this is sooooo outrageous, this is not the moment to get in discussions with USPS (Amazon delivered through UPS and then USPS...longer the chain...better chance to get it all mixed up)...oh man, like my planner was not already full, now I have to go 'beagle' and find the lost packages :banghead:

Chanel likes to stay in the closet. Actually, I should not say 'like'. Before we got her, she was living in a closet (and not a walk-in) with the food, water and literbox all next to each other because my husband's daughter thought of getting pitbulls. Oh well, I cannot tell you how stressed she was when she came to live with us, 3 months under the dresser, me pushing the food under, she was pushing the empty can out...kind of jail thing. She still goes in the closet when she feels unsafe (people upstairs have big dogs that run like horses all day long and the next door people slam the door so hard that make us jump). If I sit with her, she does not go in the closet.
As for Chanel being responsive to insulin, oh my...357 in the morning and 354 in the evening. I wish she will respond to the dose and I know I have to be patient...but I so want her out of the pinkies :(
