First insulin shot in the belly area. The ones until now were on the sides. Let's see what happens at +2:)
@Penelope and Mačka how did you get him off the dry food? did you mix it with wet food? I have some issues with the wet food in the sense that if I leave it outside, it starts to smell...hence the feeder choice. I think my mistake before was being too drastic and taking the dry food away totally in one day. Not everyone quits cold turkey and Chanel is very much into her habits.

Hi!! I know for some of my kitties it was difficult to wean them to lower numbers just by shaving the quantities. So when my Charlotte became diabetic, I found that I was able to eliminate the dry by initially smashing a few with a glass cup in a baggie and then sprinkling just a little over her wet. Eventually after doing this for a few days, I gave less and less until none. I also substituted dehydrated chicken crushed and placed onto her food to get her to continue eating the moist only. Hope this helps! Have a great day!!

Definitely it helps:) thank you. Now she has a very sad and disappointed face because her old dry food mix is gone, but I guess I need to get her a little starving and willing to go for the new food. Tough love, but we will get better at it in time. I will give the old dry food to my colleague to get it to the rescue shelter, so it will benefit others maybe. We need to get her to eat only the wet food. She loves the wet food, but not when mixed with dry food. It will be a lot of learning to be done these days. BG 336 @ +1.5. I will try to get home at lunchtime and see if she is willing to get some wet food

Here are some tips from catinfo.org on transitioning from dry to wet food:

thank you Christie. It will be hard for us or should I say, she will make it difficult for us. The dry food I put now for her is not something she likes, so I hope that will favor the transition to wet food only in a smoother way. And the new year's resolution: NO SUGAR or HIGH CARBS in the diet. That said, we should do better health-wise especially that my husband has a very sweet tooth, he needs to be switched too LOL

Got home, did BG and gave her a FF Chicken&Beef (maybe half?). BG +6 (approx) 239. Will update SS when I get home tonight.
