Good morning all!! Charlotte had frequent visits to the box last night. Her and I were up quite a bit. She had a good appetite through the night but the fortiflora hasn’t kicked in yet as she continued with the diarrhea this morning. I’ve added in pumpkin purée to her food this morning so hopefully she will eat it at some point. I’d really like to give her some I/D but I don’t want that to mess up her sugars so I’m hesitant. Maybe I’ll boil up some chicken with a little white rice. She is still active so I’m thinking we are dealing with a large bowel issue at the moment. Ugh! Hopefully it’ll pass quickly as she’s impossible to pill without stressing her out. Although I could try some Tylan powder as opposed to my first choice of metronidizole. Let’s see what the rest of the day brings us. Hope your kitties all behave and you have a good day!

I hope Charlotte’s GI gets better soon. I found Tylan powder worse to give than metronidazole. Both are foul tasting according to the local critics. Have you ever tried S.boulardii? I haven’t but many here swear by it.

Thanks to the people here, I now use S. Boulardii and it works like a miracle. Sprinkle 1/4 of a gel on her food, twice a day until improvement. It worked for Macka, every time, in half a day!

Yes that is my fear bc I know both are bitter but I’d think I’d stress her more with a pill. I gave her some cerenia and sqfluids and trying to coax her with fortiflora with CN now bc she wasn’t eating anything I offered this morning. Not as many little piles in the box as last night so hopefully she is meanie g. I have not heard of what you’ve mentioned. Don’t know much about holistic meds as we weren’t trained in that. But I’d be up to try it. Where do I get it and what’s the dose?

I found it at Natural Grocers. Any healthy grocery store should have t really. But be careful, get the one without any other ingredient. The brand is use is called Now (orange bottle).

Thank you!! Went out and found some. I boiled the chicken and mixed in some baby chicken only with broth along with half of a capsule and some fortiflora. She ate it all by the time I finished making and eating dinner. She seems happy. I’ll use it for the next few days to a week until she is solid again.

Thanks!! I found some s. Boulardii and started that along with boiled chicken. She seems content tonight. No urge like last night.

Thanks!! I hope she feels better tonight as well. The poor thing must have been in and out of the litter box at least ten times last night. Her and I were up til 3-3:30 am. Every time she went in, I’d check to see what came out. I’m pooped today(no pun intended!!). Hopefully we will both get better rest tonight.
