When he was in the hospital for his DKA one vet said he didnt think he would ever go in remission ? I dnt think hes right . Salems been doing good ! Thanks to all of you helping me ! I think he will go in remission .

My vet was just about as pessimistic...there's always hope! And you're right, Salem is looking fantabulous! Keep up the good work. Keep updating your SS - I'll check back later, gotta get going on work... :)

Hes at 88 now . i guess just watch and keep monitoring see how he does when the insulin is active without food now correct ? See how he holds on hes on without food ....
 
I can’t stay online as it’s midnight but if your +1 is not rising, I would give Salem some higher carb food to bring him up a bit for when the insulin kicks in. At the moment you don’t have much leeway at all if he drops at onset. You need to be a bit higher. I would get him up around 85-90.
Edit. I see he’s risen to 88. That’s good.
 
I figured it was safe as long as i monitored and gave HC food but last time i made a decision on my own i got fussed out cause im not experienced enough to make the calls on my own yet ! Very understandable ! Lol thanks everyone for helping and keeping me straight ! :cool::) I was reading up on the stickys this morning to refresh myself on everything in case i had to make the call on my own ! Dnt want to make another mistake !
 
Ok hes @+2=70 i gave more High carb food to keep it up since it looks like we are close to onset before i stop and just watch without food influenced . After onset settles down i will just watch but now im using hc food to keep it up . Thanks !
 
Thanks everyone hes up enough i feel its safe to ease off on him now . I will be watching every hour now ....if he continues to be stable i will ease off some more to every two hours! Hopefully he wont bounce ! Hoping he gets use to these greens too !! Which i hoping ...hes already looks to be getting adjusted to these blues and greens just hope to be able to keep him on greens now ! If not we are working on it ! Thanks things went great this morning ! :cool::rolleyes::smuggrin::p
 
Very nice testing/posting this morning Tina!

If you could, you may want to make notes about what you fed him and when; I make notes most times when I feed Luci MC or HC so I can look back to see what it took to pull her numbers up - or in some cases - only LC food is involved and she seems to surf along just fine.

Salem is looking terrific today!
 
Salems numbers went up to 102 @ +4 . Hes at 82 at noon +5.5 gave low carb food looks like hes going down again . Will monitor for next couple hours then he looks like he will go back up this afternoon before hes pmps .im trying to see if i can keep him in the greens this afternoon but not too low . In order to get him use to the green numbers . Hope he doesnt balance but if he does i guess try try again ! Good going salem surf on dude ! Lol !! See if i cant shot another green in his pmps tonight ? Im ready if you are salem ? Got my alarms ready to go if your willing tonight ?? Gotta give your pancreatitis a break to heal !

Fed high carb food at +11, 6:00pm decided to avoid shooting low again . Lol pmps 132. Thats a good number to shot he will go back down again .
 
Ok, just remember that HC food is only going to prop him up for a little while. Be sure to test often this evening - looks like he rocked it today! Great job with the testing - hope you're still game for testing tonight :)
 
Oh yeah im ready . I got a bad headache but im ready . Im catching my husband's head cold i think ? Yeah its a temporary fix , i know hes still going to go down . He did really good today ! When they arent use to their sugar being low like that all day , does it make him tired or is he just lazy today?
