I have recently noticed Mimis front paws appear to be bent more than I remember. In order to confirm this I looked up some videos of her when she was younger, and paws seem to have "collapsed" some.
google of course directed me to this condition and said it is often a complication from diabetes.
Anyone else notice their sugar baby having any mobility issues since being diagnosed?

I've noticed this in Mowgli too! I actually have a post in here from when I started asking the same question! My vet said it is more likely from jumping from heights than from diabetes, since it is more typical to see the back end affected by diabetes first. He said that he couldn't rule it out though. Here is a pic of when Mowgli was first diagnosed, I traced what I thought could be hyperextension in red:

Yes!!! And I’m trying to look back to old photos and it seems like it wasn’t always like that! So the vet said the extension happens in the back legs first? She doesn’t seem as agile lately either. I only recently started noticing it. I hope it’s not something progressive or causes pain! But one thing I did read was it’s seen in diabetic cats.

The vet didn’t say hyperextension happens in the back legs first, rather any degeneration of movement. I believe that many cats present it as not being able to stand up on their tippy toes or they present it in the form of standing flat on their hocks, it is known as neuropathy. You can see mowgli shows signs of that in the above pic. Although he’s obviously moving forward, his back paws are flat on the table instead of lifting to stand on his paws.

many members here use zobaline with really great results for neuropathy, it’s also known as methylcobaline, maybe you could give that a shot and see if you notice a positive result in Mimi :)

I will say. Now that Mowgli has spent some time in better numbers this year his front paws look much better. They still have a bend though. The major improvement was in his back paws. Hopefully you’ll notice the same in Mimo as her treatment moves forward :)
