Yesterday

Buddy had an unexpected day yesterday and even kept me awake pretty late last night. I would be ok with a repeat of that today.

I'm going to attempt trying to free hand poke for his tests again. I just just have a successful poke, but it seems like it hurts more.

Are you supporting his ear with the warm rice filled sock? I find that makes it the easiest on both of us...at least Luci for the most part seems to not notice. Sometimes, when I poke the same area too many times she lets me know...and I try to avoid that particular spot for a while. Always use Neosporin afterwards and press the ear lobe gently for a few seconds - that is of course while trying to get Luci to stop eating the Neosporin...she loves the smell of that stuff for some reason Those black ears of hers are difficult to see what's going on but keep trying...it'll get easier with time.

Glad to see Buddy didn't keep you up ALL night...just a part of it...

Good morning! I either use the warm rice sock or a cotton round, I do use neo with pain relief (not every time but at least a few times a day) I pinch the poke site after for as long as he will let me. He is getting little hard spots at the poke site, Is there anything I can do to make those go away? they don't seem to be scabs. I did shave his ears once to make it easier to see, I am going to see if he will let me do that again.

He is also being weird this morning! running around yelling at me and I even caught him on the counter! He must be feeling pretty good after the green night!

Woo another successful free hand poke and he didn't cry this time. Now we are getting somewhere!

Had to go back to using the lancet device for now, he acts like the free poke really hurts and he fights me.
