Good Morning !

Salem did really well last night . I set the alarm for every hour to test him . He went into the blues early last night . So i tested at first Every thirty minutes . He was dropping pretty fast early . i got some really good tests recorded . i just gave him a little low carb food to slow it down from dropping too fast. i wanted to panic but i reframed myself from panicking .
I was able to change the area where i shot him from his neck to his side this morning . I used the relion needle instead of the new veterinary syringes he did not jerk when the needle went in this morning . Still not sure if it hurt cause of the new syringe last night and the last couple of days . May have just gotten sore in that area . I got good information from Sue and from other board members i believe may have came from AmandaE . Thanks again everyone for sticking by me thru all this new information that im trying to process. Im learning alot about this dreadful disease . We went ahead and increased his dosage from 1.50 units to 1.75 units this morning . Good luck Salem. I got to run some errands this morning with my mother but my son will be testing and watching while im gone . He knows what to do in case of a drop but he doesnt know how to post so i will post his information when i get back .

Great job last night Tina! and awesome that your son has learned how to test, that should take a little stress off of your shoulders :)

I find Mowgli shows this pattern really often, I interpret it as: +1,+2 going up is due to food, the previous dose wearing off and the new dose not yet kicking in. I bet at +3 you will see the new dose start to kick in (onset) and you will get a lower number than your +2. If not you might be in bounce town :P I will hope for the former instead of the latter ;)

i think thats what my son told me hes being doing today. Im on the way back home . Daniel thats my son loves these kitties he does great helping me with them . Salem started off really high this morning but hes come back down . Going home to check on him ! Thanks !! No walmarts around us had any relion premiere strips i had to travel over 30 miles today one way just to get more strips . Luckily the ketone meter checks glucose also but those strips are .70 cents for one strip . I dnt want to use them only for emergencies .

Funny thing happen today Salems an indoor cat . I went out on the deck to bring in some groceries i come up the stairs Salems sitting on the deck ! Im like Salem !!! Are you getting some fresh air ! You know your not allowed outside ? He sticks his head in between the rails looks down and turns around and looks at me . Like hes telling me hes tired of being cooped up inside ! I guess when it gets warm mamas going buy you a harness ! I always wanted to walk him in the yard . But could never find a cat harness . Poor thing never been outside maybe a few times and only to ride to the veterinaries office . I need to get him some more exercise . So thats the plan this spring . All this thats happen to him and almost dying makes me realise he might not be with us much longer ! I pray he does stay awhile but i need to spend more time with Salem !

i love how your black kitty is sitting on the stairs with his/ her mouth open like she or he is talking . She looks like Salem from Sabrina the teenage witch , you know the talking black cat from the show . Thats where i got Salems name from . Lol we named my daughters tabby Sabrina and Salem of course Salem from that Tv show ! Lol She looks awesome !!!

I love that pic of Mowgli too! if you could see the whole pic, you would see he is also holding his paws really fancy,... so cute!! Sometimes I call him 'Princey-paws'

I know exactly what you mean about Salem... but of course your cat looks like Salem too! it's a really perfect name for him!

If you can't find a harness specifically for cats, harnesses for small dogs should work for Salem if you want him to spend more time outside ;)

Salem is looking really great tonight I hope he continues to surf for you! No diving Salem!! keep it safe!!

:smuggrin::smuggrin::smuggrin:I was looking on Amazon they have harnesses for cats lol . I just cnt find one locally in my small town. Im going to try to order one after christmas . He needs a new cat carrier too, hes gotten so big . When i carried him to the vets office and the hospital we had to take it apart to get him in it . I would feel better if he had more room . He needs one of those jungle gyms too to play on . They have gotten so much bigger and the prices are not as high as they use to be . Im going to spoil him some more . I see they got fountains for cats to drink from now too . I think it would encourage him to drink more . He goes to the tub and lays in it and waits for the water to dribble in his mouth , silly cat
I see Mowgli is holding his leg up like hes really smart ! Lol so cute ! . I love black cats !
