He is eating all his food and tends to beg for more after being bumped to 1.75. I will be gone the first +1 to +3 and then +6 to +11 today. I will be home the rest of the evening for the PM schedule. Yes I have LOTS of strips. I buy them 50 at a time I seem to go through so many.

:rolleyes: I used to buy them 200 at a time. Lol. I would hold the dose since he is so high this morning.

What is your schedule for monitoring past today?

Just updated the AMPS (287). I have a large work schedule this week. No testing throughout the day on Monday unless I can get the 1.5 hours it takes me at work to drive home and back on my lunch break :(. Tuesday - Friday I can normally get home at +10. I tend to wake up a couple times a night just so I can get some sort of curve during the night.
 
I used to buy 200 strips at a time, as well!

I would hold the dose but for a different reason. This dose has dropped Pax as low as 61. I like to evaluate the dose based on how low a dose is bringing the numbers when deciding whether to hold or increase. The other factor is that as your kitty is spending more time in numbers under 200, you hold the dose for 5 days/10 cycles rather than 3 days/6 cycles. Pax is right on the borderline -- 3 cycles with numbers <200.

Increasing the dose:
  • Hold the dose for 3 - 5 days (6 - 10 consecutive cycles) if nadirs are less than 200 before increasing the dose by 0.25 unit.
    • if your cat is new to numbers under 200, it is recommended to hold the dose for at least 8-10 cycles before increasing.
    • when your cat starts to see nadirs under 100, hold the dose for at least 10 cycles before increasing.
  • Increase by 0.25 unit after 3 days (6 consecutive cycles) if nadirs are greater than 200, but less than 300.
  • Increase by 0.5 unit after 3 days (6 consecutive cycles) if nadirs are greater than 300.

Just to explain or expand on my thought process. I was only referring to this cycle for holding the dose. I wasn't sure on further dosing because of the lack of the ability to test. I know when I was doing this dance with Gizmo I had to consider my work schedule along with the depot and if I needed to drain it to keep him safe while I was at work and unable to test. That is why I also asked about Jennifer's work schedule for the upcoming few days. I know TR is very scary to do when unable to test and keeping these kitties safe is most important. But was also concerned about the possibility of ketones on the rise if SS notes are accurate.
 
Thank you all for your help. I updated his chart and am about to leave again and will be back before his PM shot. It looks like he is holding at the upper 200s today so far. Based on the advice given, It looks like I should hold at 1.75 for at least the next three cycles (tonight and all day tomorrow), as long as he is holding in the 200s. If he does then I will increase .25, otherwise I will re-evaluate at that point.
 
What a great report on Pax! As important as his BG numbers are, those observations about behavior speak volumes about how your kitty is feeling.
