It's really up to you and your ability/willingness to test overnight should the need arise. I tended to be conservative on night cycles but then Menace was a little more prone to throwing me surprises every so often with some really low BGs.

Ok I think I'll stick with the 0.5 FAT for tonight only because I don't feel like staying up all night in case he throws me a curve ball lol, hopefully he will get back to his lower pre shots. How is the weather by you @MrWorfMen's Mom
 
Its cold and had a quick covering of the white crap yesterday morning but it was all gone by midday thank goodness. The usual first day of snow with multiple fender benders etc. so I hibernating indoors. Got my snow tires on last week so at least I don't have that scramble to deal with. I think you guys are getting hit with this crap too.
 
Sure. You can shoot an hour early tonight to get back on schedule provided Tyler's BG is high enough for the shot. No worries. It happens. Not moving quickly myself today.

and it was Tyler that woke me up we were supposed to get the white crap lol but didn't, oh happy day, just some rain and was cold @MrWorfMen's Mom
 
Hey, Diane , just know you can blow the white " crap" back to the Midwest anytime you'd like !!! I love it and sounds like we may have a good snowy winter coming here , so yahooo :eek: Tell Ashley I'm looking for a candle that smells like old books and will let you know ... we old book fans need to stick together ❤️

@MrWorfMen's Mom hey Linda I know you might now be a to give me an answer to my question What the heck is going on with Tyler's higher pre- shots lately
Ok I started using a new vial the second week of September, so I know it's still good
Before I started the new vial the other one was 4 months old so I decided to get a new one to see if it made any difference because he was starting to ger higher pre- shots also, it really made no difference but there were some lower pre-shots after that, but during the tests I did during the cycles he was dropping.

Now all of a sudden we are seeing higher pre- shots granted he did get into Perry's food a few times, remember I told you.

There has been some lower pre-shots though here and there as you can see on his SS
He has been dropping during the cycles as you can see .
Just gave him 1 tablespoon of FF LC Pate @+6.75 he was hungry

I will see what tonight brings when I test his PMPS
I am just praying that the vetsulin isn't working any longer
I will be getting more test strips probably on Monday so I am going to try and test him every 2 hrs just for the hell of it
Any thoughts @MrWorfMen's Mom
 
Diane I wish I had a good answer to your question but I don't. BG is not static and while I agree that Tyler has had a few more higher pre-shots lately than he was having, I don't see anything alarming going on...they're not that much higher. If he is acting normally, eating well, peeing and pooping Ok, then he's just being a cat. Doing a curve one day isn't a bad idea. I doubt your Vetsulin has gone bad. I think you'd see a far more stark change in numbers if that were the case.

Ok I feel a little better lol , yes he is acting totally normal, being a pain in the butt lol

I take it you mean 0.75 skinny. That's what's on the spreadsheet. Looks to me like Tyler dropped sharply last night very early in the cycle and I wonder if that AMPS is a bit of a bounce. When Tyler drops off by 60 points in 2 hours, might be a good idea to check him again an hour later to see where he's headed. Did you feed Tyler when you got that 135 last night?

Hey Linda yes sorry was a typo, I fixed it. I didn't feed him exactly @+2 I just looked at my notes I did feed him @+3 then probably later on I gave him some Dr Elsey dry. I should have checked him you're right, will do in the future. Just put the feeding on the SS

Looks like that 96 point drop earlier is causing some bouncing. Interesting. Might be from the slightly higher dose but he still didn't quite make it to green. I wonder if he is dropping to a lower BG later at night that we just aren't seeing. If you make a bathroom call later at night, maybe try to grab a test on occasion just to see if we can catch Tyler in the act so to speak. :D

Well I tested Tyler 4 times last night because he had a big drop but it was fine
in case you want to take a look at last nights cycle
MONDAY 11-11-19
AMPS. - 135. Going with 0.75 skinny
Do you think I should stay with the 0.75 skinny or the 0.5 fat since we got a lower pre shot , it's about time, watch tonight will be higher lol @MrWorfMen's Mom

Sounds like at least 4 and possibly 6 inches by tonight. I hope they are wrong. And then the temperature is supposed to stay low at least till Thursday. It's dropped another 2 degrees here in the past hour or so. Now 25F. Gotta dash out now to pick up ....guess what......cat food and maybe a bottle of wine before the roads get back and traffic is light. I may need the wine. Putting on the long underwear. I'm a cold wimp! :woot:

Hey y'all ... we started at 42 at midnight for today's high ..... dropping all day with low of 12 :woot: Maybe 2 inches but ground is still warm ... my yello feral kitties have full bellies and houses full of straw so they are set.... winds to howl and temps to drop !!' Its winter !!!:confused:
 
That's not abnormal to have a lower AMPS than the PMPS. I still think that little monkey is sometimes sneaking in lower numbers at night when he knows he won't get caught!

My porch, front walkway, bottom of the driveway and half the top of driveway got blown (didn't bother moving car to do rest) so what I have to clean up tomorrow should be reduced considerably. That white crap is coming down very little now but it's really disheartening when it gets white again right after you blow out a few feet. I've ordered a truck and will arrange to send it to you tomorrow @Beth 73 so you can top up yours since you said it was gonna melt. Ours isn't going anywhere soon...should make it there intact. PM me the address. :woot: Even the inside of the snow blower had frozen snow stuck in it by the time I got done.

Where I live if you park on the street after you done breaking your back shoveling it out, the damn town comes by to plow the streets and push all the snow again on the side of your car, so you have to start shoveling the crap again. Boy does it burn me up. There is a big drive way behind my apartment building and the owner has his guy come and snow blow everything, I park there. The thing is if its really a lot a snow, I mean a lot I park on the street and go outside and shovel my car multiple times so that when he comes I can jump in the car with Ashley and leave and go park some where, because of the noise. There is a hotel 2 minutes away from me that has a big parking garage so I go park there. The things we have to do, it's awful. That's why I pray for no snow or at least only about 2 or 3 inches. I have to keep a sense of humour about it because I can't change it. My big problem tomorrow will be much like yours. The snow plow will come by and plow all the snow from the road into the bottom of my driveway. My added problem is that I live on a corner so when they plow the side street and come around the corner, not only do I get the snow from my road but also from the side street. There have been times when I've had to call the city to clear the windrows they leave behind plugging the driveway entry. Piles 3 to 4 ft wide through and 1.5 to 2ft high, totally frozen across a double driveway. Impossible to blow out and too heavy to shovel. Problem is 2 years ago it took them over 36 hours to come clear it out and that was after I called several times complaining and telling them I had a brittle diabetic in the house who could need to go to the emergency for hypoglycemia at any time. Didn't tell them it was a cat I was referring to but it didn't speed them up anyway. If I'd admitted it was a cat, I might have been snowed in for the remainder of winter!:woot:

I'll find you in the morning. Time for some sugar donuts! I earned them. :D
