Max has been doing well and has fully recovered from the DKA this all started with. His weight is back to normal, and he's adjusted well to eating FF pate only, having originally been a kibble-only-cat.
He's much better trained now at getting his insulin and having his readings done, and Kate and I are both much more comfortable with the process!
We had a lovely accidental crash/smash/bang-insulin-everwhere of our Lantus vial last night, but we discovered that we were able to get a new vial at the pharmacy without a prescription, and it was almost HALF THE COST of what we paid at the vet ($79 CAD at pharmacy, 145 at vet).
We've also just switched to a human meter, as the AT test strips were going to bankrupt us (AT strips were $137.70 for a box of 50 here in Canada). We chose to go with the Freestyle Lite, and it looks like 100 strips will be around $80 retail. I understand we can find them on ebay and some other online suppliers for cheaper, so we will be looking into that. Can someone let me know how to update our spreadsheet for the human meter?
