What I found worked best for Sheba with the bouncing was to try and stop the drops. The best way to do this is to catch the drop before it happens. Once you have the first big drop in the cycle, it is probably too late.
Elmo needs to get used to low numbers again and until he does, he will keep bouncing.
What I did with Sheba when I was trying to stop the drops....and I couldn't do it all the time because it was very time consuming, but once I had started I tried to keep going with it. To try and get ahead of the drop I got a +1 …...if there was no food spike here, then it was most likely going to be an active cycle..and then get a +2 and evaluate.
If there was any sign of a drop I would feed her and depending on how much of a drop....I would vary the carbs. I tried to ease her down slowly with no more than 50 points an hour max.
Then hopefully the next cycle, the preshot would be a bit lower and do the same thing..test +1 etc. and keep doing that until all the numbers are hopefully lower.
At one point I managed to keep Sheba in greens for a fortnight before she broke out and bounced again.
Its worth a try....it may work. It will be a bit of trial and error at first You know what carbs work for Elmo. You don't want to stop the drop, just slow it down from the beginning so he has no excuse to bounce.
