Unfortunately the vets office is in chaos with the main server down somewhere in the country. On the phone the vet only told me certain values. The vet is supposed to call probably tomorrow or Wednesday to go over my dogs blood results which she was able to send me a copy through email so I want her to do the same thing for Yoyo's blood work!!!!!!
I'm very down about his hematocrit levels going down and Bun going up. Also the thyroid has me worried as I read info over the weekend from the link you and Lyane were kind enough to send me and I read that his thyroid medicine can cause anemia.

One disease leads to the next, it's like dominoes.

Very GLAD to see Tina's blood report looks sooooo much better. You must be on top of the world:)
Her just feeling better is sign enough. I hope you do ok with the fluids, take your time and be calm. It will all work out:bighug:
 
I'm so sorry about the aggravation over getting full results for Yoyo. I also hope the news isn't bad concerning your dear dog.
Hopefully, the liver treats will help those hematocrit levels. Tina's BUN only came down 2 points to 46 from 48 - eek by itself, but at least the creatinine is better. These thyroids sure can be hard to balance (mine too!). And the thyroid sure can throw other things off. Were you told to change the dose of Felimazole? I seem to remember you said his levels were low?
I appreciate the "take your time and be calm", you are right. I can do it. I'll be ok if I can ever get Tina to be still and take a nap!

Vet feels .9 is normal. Debra feels .9 is too low....... So I have already made a new schedule and I am removing 2 pills a week. But I am not sure if that is enough. I think the vet may have said to remove 2 days, not sure what she said to do as she really didn't want me to reduce at this time! I need to ask her again without her getting annoyed with all my questions:woot:
Also from the links that I read from I read that methimazol,Thyroid med for hyperthyroid, can cause ANEMIA. So that is another reason that I want to lower his dose. I really want to know what is causing the lower hematocrit levels and RBC levels to keep declining. I would love answers but unfortunately they are hard to find.

Hope your dad is feeling better. A fall is scary. Was he alone when he fell?

Just ask your questions - no doctor should be annoyed with our questions. In the end they can even respect us more. Paws crossed for you. But, yes, unfortunately I know what you mean. I didn't know before that meds to calm down the thyroid could cause anemia. Indeed, some answers are very hard to find. I'm a bit overloaded with information, so I'm trying more physical labor to rest my poor brain:stop:, hoping it will work better again after a rest! Yoyo and Tina need to get their bloodwork in line right this minute, and quit worrying us!

My brother is taking our dad to the doctor right now. Poor guy fell on his own front porch, and nobody was home. He eventually got himself up, drove to Walmart (he's not supposed to be driving) and got some groceries. Then he came home and started swelling up and didn't hardly move for almost two days. I sure wish I lived closer, but brother and his wife moved him out by them about three years ago before dementia was bad. I just have to tell myself a 100 mile trip is no big deal. Or move out by them like they keep asking:woot::nailbiting: Brother has hired help for anything Dad could need.

Oh my goodness....I wonder how long he was down until he got up. If he would have just called your brother or you......
It is so hard watching this disease take over our parents and our lives. Nothing is the same anymore. Some days my mom knows me, but most days she thinks I am just someone helping her. Even though she may not know who I am, she tolerates me where she will not tolerate a total stranger to help her.....so somewhere, deep down, she must feel something about me that she trusts. It is just awful.

I like what you wrote about Tina and Yo better get their bloodwork in line.....too cute, I wish they understood us:cat:
I understand the physical work to get your mind off of things. Unfortunately I work from home and see EVERYTHING that goes on. No escaping for me at this time especially with all my animals and their meds too!! So walking in the morning is my meditation or therapy or whatever you want to call it.....Hope your day is a good one and I hope Ms Tina continues to improve with her bloodwork. She deserves an extra helping of food tonight:cat::bighug:
