Shoot 2iu for 167?

Stall, don't feed and test again in 20 minutes.

Do you have plenty of test strips and high carb food and some honey if needed ?
Are you able to test throughout this cycle if needed to keep Titus safe?

I have honey, and have high carb dry food, but not wet. I can test as I need to. Have over 150 strips.

Ok. When you are next out at the shops can you get some high carb wet food please such as fancy feast Gravy Lovers?
It is important to have that in your hypo box

Let's see what the next test says

I know, I’ve been trying but having trouble getting blood the past few days and I have stopped trying after 3 pokes unless it’s preshot and then I just keep trying until I get enough.

Are you warming the ear first?
What size lancets are you using!
Sizes 26 and 28 are best when learning

Yes to warming ear. He’s been fighting me more so I’ve smeared and lost it or reader says not enough. Using 26 and have 28 too

I'm very new to this too but a forum member on here suggested to get the blood on a clean fingernail then you don't have to worry about him shaking his ear and losing the droplet. Someone else mentioned to put a little vaseline on the ear and the blood forms a better drop.

Both the ideas from Judy and Freckles are good.

If he is fighting you, you could give him a very small snack of chicken breast or something similar very low in carbs to eat while you are doing the test. Cut it into tiny bits then it iwill take longer to eat.
I used to give Sheba chicken stock I had made, to drink while I was testing.
To test her I used to kneel on the floor and sit on my heels and have her between my legs facing the same way as me so that her tail was backing into me. That way I had control of her without actually holding onto her and her ears were right there,
While she was having her snack I got the blood test.

I’ve tried and use all of those techniques. I give him freeze dried chicken or shrimp. He really hates the ear pricks. I use the nail trick. All of it. Sometimes I just can’t get it.

Just keep doing the best you can.
It’s still only very early days and both you and Titus will get much more used to it.
If you find you can’t get a test done and he has dropped in the previous test, then give him some food.
Does he have any food overnight?
If not I would leave something out for him.

So far you are doing really well.

I have an auto feeder for 5am, and he usually eats his last meal throughout the night as well. I feed him 4x a day.

Ok so you shoot 10 am and 10 pm.
What other times except Preshot do you feed Titus?
Feeding in the first half of the cycle when the insulin is typically strongest is best. Does he get any food between the Preshot and the 5 am autofeeder which would be +7 , which is fine.?

I feed him at 5am, after/during morning shot at 10am, 3:30pm, and then even shot time
Are you able to leave some food out for him around +3 each cycle as well.?
A lot of us offer several smaller meals throughout the cycles. The +3 time would be around the time the insulin is starting to work well... (the onset is usually around +2)
